GW2 pre-order

I'm unsure if this is a reaction to Guild Wars 2 but Rift is supposed to acquire "Gear Normalization", which will make gear quality irrelevant in PvP.

I'm not too excited. But the game is ideal for my girlfriend who is starting uni now and might not be able to afford constant WoW subscriptions. I might get it if she does, I guess. Money isn't really an issue. But time is an asshole. For me that is. For her, it's money mostly.
