I love Halo but I wouldn't get Halo 3 on PC. Reason being? I have it on Xbox instead. It's as simple as that. It would be good if it was released on PC but frankly I already have a copy and I'll be getting the Mythic map set soon enough anyway, so there'd be no difference unless there were plenty of new PC-exclusive features released on it.

The Hummer for the PC? Im confused, i guess you could customize your H3 to have a PC, the monitors could go on the back seats.
That would be the best thing ever.

Arnold Schwarshigivermegriealebigmusclesman designed the hummer because he wanted a street legal Humvee(hopefully spelled right) but alot of Generals and the like said it couldn't be done. did he change that...

TBH I'm not that interested. I have enough multiplayer shooters of better quality and the storyline was a bit meh.
Glad to see someone that has the same opinion :D

1. They want to boost Xbox 360 sales
2. Compared to other shooters on PC Halo falls into the mediocre category (on PC large reticles = less fun)
3. With the bad rep that the H2 port built up I wouldn't expect H3 to fair much better

Well, Halo 1 on PC was balls, so I'm not holding my breath. Make Halo Wars on the PC, then we'll talk.

I don't care too much for any Halo past 1. Even if they make it for the PC, it's a pass up for me. That's my opinion, though.

[small]I hope they do release this on P.C. I want someone to remake Halo 2 using the Halo 3 engine like that Black Mesa mod for Half-Life. Seriously the only things I didn't like about Halo 2 was the Brutes were not fun to fight and the Elite's melee strength was ridiculous. Replacing Halo 2 Brutes with H3 Brutes would remove one of my only complaints with the campaign.[/small]

Speaking of which was that mod ever released for Half-Life?
Do you mean the Black mesa mod? If so, it will be released sometimes this year.

OT: I can't say I'm jumping through hoops if Halo 3 will be released on PC, but I think it would be kinda stupid of Microsoft to not release considering both Halo 1 and Halo 2 are out on the PC.

It's a reasonable question because it's not really a question of quality. Most games make it to a PC release at some stage, I think it's kind of a shame that Halo 3 isn't getting the same treatment. But to be fair at this stage all it woul really be is a straight up port and they do have work to do with Reach and ODST after all. I don't think they can just drop everything to make a port onto the PC that probably wouldn't sell so well.
Besides I have Halo 3 on my Xbox 360 and I love it, very much so. I wouldn't buy a port to the PC if I already have the game... I think that plays into it as well. It works by the theory that most Halo fans have an Xbox and that logically it follows that they would own Halo 3 on the console itself. So therefore the number of buyers is reduced significantly to mean that ultimatley a port to the PC is somewhat redundant.

System specs probably play a role as to why it's not on PC right now.
How does that make sense? i mean, this doesnt even come near the limits of what the 360 does, and even my cheap 300 dollar PC outclasses the 360's game-ity powers. You sir, have confused me

thanks for opening the gates of fanboydom, respect up =D

gave me a great laugh

On topic, I think Halo works well on console, and PERHAPS it might come out on PC but I doubt it
I have a 360 as well so I wouldn't bother buying it

Snip.
IIRC it was actually orignally announced back in... 97? as a Mac exclusive, though after Durandal and Myth a PC release was probably inevitable. It was also announced as an RTS.
Heh, teach me for trusting Wikipedia. [I had heard that somewhere, but I didn't know if it was true, so I took Wikipedia's advice] I did know the part about the RTS, which shocked me. I mean how many assets are transferable between an RTS and an FPS. [Assuming they keep with the traditional bird's eye view of RTS's]. Surely Microsoft were better off to release it both as an RTS and an FPS.
One of the only benifits to having been a mac gamer in the 90s. What I'm not sure is the recollection that Halo started out using the same engine as Myth. Either way back in the late 90s there were some stupidly beautiful renders that were coming out for Bungie's new RTS. Though the RTS model probably would have followed Myth, IE: No base, no reinforcements, ect. The FPS aspect came about because they were mucking around with a battlefield view you could enter and exit and found that much more entertaining.

I wouldn't sell well unless they release it on windows 7. Vista is just... fail...
You've got Sonic Unleashed as your avatar, I don't think you're a good authority on what is good software and what isn't.
wow talk about prejudging people on appearances (well digital appearances in this case) just cause he has an avatar of Sonic Unleashed doesn't make him stupid, if he likes it who are we to say he's stupid for it.

OT: i would love halo 3 to come out just so i can see why it's so good, but i didn't even know halo 2 got released for the PC <.< fail on my side
