I second this. I find it funny that all of these people come out the woodwork after a few weeks with all sorts of controller related mishaps yet I've been using computers and consoles for years and I've never had more than a callous on my mouse wrist.
The original Mario Party with a N64 controller could give you a pretty bad blister. I had a blister about the size of my palm after playing that.

If you're worried about soreness on your hands when playing a games console, it might be sensible to give your hands a break from time to time, and don't play excessively if your hands are prone to sweating.
Well duh, we have been hearing that for what 10 years or so.

Im with this guy (not literally), but every week theres something on the news about video games bein bad and devil spawn. Give it a rest, 99.9% of gamers dont have these problems.
Ever thought it might be a problem with the girl and not the controller?

I'm fine with PS controllers. Maybe because this is a PS2 household. Xbox controllers were bad. They were HUGE.
I didn't mind the Dukes. They fit comfortably in the grip of my massive, manly hands. PS controllers have always been fiddly and painful for me.

I miss the 6 button Megadrive control pads. Perfect for the many, many games of Mortal Kombat I went through to destroy any sensitivity to violence I ever had.

If people cant hold a controller right they should lose the rite to use a controller and even their hands. I mean c'mon its not hard.

Exactly. I've seen this article too many times. Even on the Escapist Forums, it's getting annoying.
Seriously, it looks like she was payed to squeeze the controller and try to break it, thus get sores.
Those bastards pretty surely already knew she would've gotten sores from that.

it is somewhat uncomfortable, but it's not the palms. the analogue sticks are bad because of the center rise (as opposed to the 360 controller's analogue, which is better).
If only the entire 360 controller wasn't the size of twenty thousand moons then I'd agree.

Edit:

Anyway, the article has nothing to do with comfort or grip. It has everything to do with the girl having a disease (Idiopathic Plantar Hidradenitis) which commonly effects both the hand and feet's sweat glands. The peculiar nature of this case, as well as the reason the doctor gave it the name, is that it is only effecting her hands and she plays playstation all day.

It's got nothing to do with the controller. It would have happened if she played wii, 360, played with finger skateboards, or jumped off of cliffs with cats tied to her.

I can't stand sony controllers. they're too small for my hands.

Most comfortable controllers I ever had was the N64 Pelican, GC Wavebird, and the Duke.

My reply: Stop holding the controller so hard.

My second me's reply: So? Use a keyboard.

WTF happened that turned everyone into a pussy that can't handle holding a Playstation controller? I can't see what's so wrong with it. I've been using a PS controller for 9 years and I had no problems with it.

don't get me wrong, i love the ps3 controller and i really dislike the 360 controller because it is "xbox hueg". but the analogue sticks are much better on the 360.
