They do realize that Sony isn't just a gaming company, right? They could give up making game consoles and they'd still have revenue sources to keep them afloat. They wouldn't be making quite as much money, but they'd still be alive. By doing this kind of shit, these assholes are hurting gamers and only gamers.

If Sony's smart and learned from their last attack, they will have some sort of way to track down these guys if they do attack again. Like some sort of tracker or something that will only activate if your get into a part of Sony your not supposed to or something.

That is to say if this sort of tracker thing is real.

No, that's just disgusting... i'll make them were facial hair made out of their own pubes for the rest of their days.

It's just annoying! What did Sony do for this? (I'm not actually sure)
For the idea of punishment of the hackers in question, how about we just comb their pubes with a porcupine?

As for what Sony did, I can only speculate that it was either their perceived mis-management of the whole initial hack issue OR the issue of Sony's complete removal of the OtherOS function after they made that a known feature of the device. I'm more apt to say that it was more likely the latter of the two.
How about we do the Matrix human battery farming on them- try and hack that! (i know it's not real)

This suck for all gamers, personally I dont have a PS3 but those that are say "ha ha i have an xbox ps3 suckers" Etc. should just shut up and think what they are saying, first of all if they are attacking sony now for something sony have done to annoy them well then the chances of them doing to to microsoft are equally high and then both groups will end up with out the services we want, the only was its to show the hackers, regardless of the console you prefer that we want them to stop this stupid game.

Well good thing I didn't buy a PS3 then eh? I got one free with a phone instead. But I haven't bought or downloaded anything with PSN so I don't really care for this but I see how it can affect people. Think of it this way, when we Sony finds the hackers they can hire them (Hopefully) and make their system more secure.

This really makes me angry. I personally can't comprehend how anyone could do something to harm someone else (physically or mentally - this comes under mentally - ruining peoples enjoyment) with no motive or reason.
Before someone mentions the (completely non-justifiable) reasons that some people are stating, these reasons still give no excuse to attacking the customers, by stealing personal info, or taking away the ability to enjoy playing games online.
Its like people who spoil endings to games/ films/ TV by posting the spoiler as a thread title. There is no reason to do so apart from their own enjoyment, which makes them horrible people, which the world would be better off without.
And to the people who can't understand why everyone is so angry at the hackers, you've got to remember they aren't just affecting one person. They are attacking millions and millions of people, which surely boosts the severity of their crime by quite a bit.
And again, to the (very few) people who agree with their cause and are defending them, did you read their twitter feed? These aren't noble hackers attacking an evil corporation for a greater good, they are horrible people who enjoy causing havoc and will target anything just because they can, and enjoy doing so.

So it has been hacked again?

This is ...ridiculous. What more could they possibly do to jeopardise Sony? And why?...This is already beating a dead horse.

I'd take anything said with a bucket of salt, to be honest.

Can't wait till this just blows over. Useless hackers who have nothing better to do with their time other than to annoy people.

Dear hackers: I demand equal rights for Microsoft users. It's a slightly more deserving company anyway.
How do you figure that? Because you like them less? No, that's not how it works. They're pissed at Sony over the whole Install Other OS/"we still own your PS3 even after you buy it" thing. Microsoft isn't doing that, so they're not a target.

Plus, hoping that more people get fucked over like so many PSN users did pretty much means you're just as big a dick as all the PSN hackers are in the first place. Really, you want more innocent people to suffer just because you're a Sony fanboy? Truly pathetic. You should hope they get caught, not that they spread the suffering to even more people.
Way to assume (and way to clip the end off my post, the part that sets me as a PC gamer who dislikes both Sony and Microsoft). Excellent work.

...I'm really starting to regret that post... WHICH WAS A JOKE (parodied an earlier post, and set itself as a demand for "rights". Come on people, can you not see this?)

ITT: lots and lots of angry ps3 owners.

also: It amazes me that console owners will still defend a company that sells you something and then tells you that you cannot modify it or you are no longer allowed to play it. I do not have ps3 nor am I a part of this group or really a supporter of it, but then I am not fond of being told what to do with my own property.
Contrary to what you read in this place, the people who want to open up their consoles and fiddle or install new and pointless OS's on their PS3 are a minority. A very whiny, vocal minority with an over inflated sense personal privledge. Those of us who want to use our PS3's for games, media and online fun (like, you know, it was intended for) couldn't give two shits about these kids or their ownership beliefs. In fact if they vanished from the face of the earth, it'd probably be a better place. We wouldn't have all these wannabe hacker vigilantes for starters.
well, that is your opinion. If you are fond of being told what to do with your property, may I suggest a communist state?

also: ITT a bunch of people that apparently do not know what the definition of a "hacker" is, and want to break hacking down into little groups of different kinds of hackers. I think a lot of you have watched "Hackers" a few too many times and think that all hackers are benevolent do-gooders, and not people who have a skillset they will use for whatever the hell they want. Please note: No freaking "cracker" broke into Sony's database and stole huge amounts of data including credit card info and account info.

your desire to parody someone who believes the have the right to do what they want with their property is sad.

Man, what a bunch of assholes, they aren't fighting for anyone when they're stealing other people's data.
Taking down their website would be making a statement. But when they go around stealing things, they've got nobody on their side and everybody hates them.

Wow, arrogant much? I have no real loyalty to Sony but the idea that a bunch of /b/asement dwellers can take down a multi-billion a year corporation like sony is ludicrious to the point of sillyness.

Also, what was with that writer of that article? It's like he wants to give Sony a great big kiss on the penis.
