I took a few weeks off from the game and within the last three days since coming back on, I've seen more hackers/glitchers/exploiters or whatever we're calling them (how about just Cheaters) in these few days than I have in any month or two combined. Nearly indestructible Heavies with Pyro speed (nope, they aren't wearing the Gloves of Running Urgently), Engies who build four or more sentries on their own, and people who just don't die when they should (I set off 4 stickies all around a soldier, he then killed me and it showed his health at not even halfway down).

Am I unlucky lately or is this something that has been happening more? I'm searching for secure servers and all. Just curious, as it's really freaking irritating.

TF2 is falling apart. I say cut and run.

Seriously. Boss fights? Items? Clothing? A good game of Team Fortress these do not make.

I predicted this in early October, I'll be checking my posts to see if I can find the exact one.

EDIT: I said it, most recently, here. [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/7.240189-Valve-Pays-Royalties-for-Fan-Created-Items-in-TF2?page=2]

I've played games that added this "feature", and it ALWAYS ended badly. A few people made money, while the fandom was torn apart by arguments over the new equipment that can be easily unlocked for free. I've seen this situation before. I didn't want to watch it happen in TF2 (and it WILL happen, unless the fandom can smoothly split up right now), so I got out of the game.

Go on servers where the admins actually do their fucking jobs?

Shameless plug; TF2 Newbs [http://www.tf2newbs.com] server community.

The heavy speed is a glitch that valve really needs to fix.

Other then that I haven't seen any increase in other forms of cheating, may just be bad luck on your part in server choice.

The Boss fight was just a Halloween thing.

OT: The only thing I've heard of is the Heavy one. Never encountered it myself. All I can really suggest is to go on servers where the admins actually do their jobs. Like the Escapist Servers, or the Chocolate Hammer server.

Whatever, just wash your hands.
never seen that, but I tend to just play on one server that tends to have mods on it all the time

I've seen all of this. There was one engi who had every space in their intel room covered with a sentry gun...and he was invincible. I said screw it to the game and say everyone else should too. I DON'T CARE ABOUT HATS!

Are you sure you didn't play on a saigns.de server?(just look at what their premium members [https://www.saigns.de/premium/#] get)

Sorry, what was that? I couldn't hear you over how awesome my hats are.

You poor, Irish fools... lacking hats. I pity thee.

The game is still great and way more fun and relaxing than jumping into Halo matchmaking. I plan to keep playing TF2 till the severs shut down or TF3 comes out.

I've seen it. I back-stabbed one while he was on his cheating spree.

Every online game has its share of cun- sorry - cheaters, I've been lucky enough to avoid them. The whole more than one sentry thing may be that you were on a premium server, where members get to do that kinda shit.

Well I know in one of the servers the admin didn't even know why players were able to do some of these things.

Some other people on there today said they've been seeing this exploits more often recently. It kind of sucks the fun out of the game and just makes everyone else angry.

There was a recent glitch with engineer buildings which allowed engineers to construct them ad infinitum. (It's now fixed.) GRU does indeed allow heavies to move at 100% speed, although they get inflicted a DoT while wearing them. As for the stickies, it's entirely possible that your aim or your timing was off. Demoman has a rather high learning curve, but is quite powerful once mastered.

It's entirely possible that server cheats were on as well. Admins do have that option.
The thing is that the Heavies were firing their Sashas while running at Pyro speed at the same time. I think it may be an exploit linked to the GRU, allowing players to have that speed boost without having them equipped. That's me theory at least.

You could be right about my timing with the stickies. It may have been lag, too. I've put in about 100 hours as a Demoman, though, and the trap I had set covered a large area (I spread them out in case a Scout catches me off guard). The same trap killed everyone else but just propelled the one player forward quickly. But like I said, lag may have factored, so I'm hesitant to call that one a hack.
