Not much different. And in end, Mjoll is angry, Alduin is still threat, and Raj will be hero for killing it. Alduin that is.

But Ulfric is a butt! He acts like Thalmor, high and mighty. Like everything should be under his boot.

Is like making deal with devil.
Putting Skyrim in hands of mad man like giving Raj fireball.

But putting Skyrim in hands of Empire of madmen is like giving Raj ice spikes.

Nobody wins. Not even Raj. And Mjoll will be angry either way!

in Oblivion I was an imperial who saved tamriel, cyrodil and the empire, controled all the guilds. in Skyrim I am an imperial and that mans greatgreat... however many greats grandson destined to do the same in skyrim. Skyrim is a sequal to oblivion and i am making my character a sequal to the one in Oblivion. though i didnt name him "Stupid" like in oblivion but "Dumbfuck". Yes Dumbfucks horse rushes in to kick a dragon forcing Dumbfuck to buy a new horse.

I was reading a previous article about joining either the Stormcloaks or Imperials in the civil war of Skyrim. One of the arguments I heard was comparing Ulfric to Hitler and the Nazi party,... As a man from a German family I was offended by this kind of accusation

1. Hitler killed and executed tens of thousands of his own people who spoke up against the his party, Ulfric to my knowledge killed no one but the High King, and then only challenging him to a duel. Later in the game you fight the General of Imperials along his side and even then he wants to allow them to walk away or defend themselves.

2. IMPERIALS are the ones exeecuting civilians on the behalf of the Elves!!!?? THEY ARE KILLING THE FAMILIES OF THEIR OWN FU**ING SOLDIERS BECAUSE ONE OF THEIR GODS OFFENDS THE ELVES WHO THEY MADE THE NORDS FIGHT IN THE FIRST PLACE!

3. The Imperials allow Thalmor agents into their cities routing out Talos worshippers...Hmm gee secret service agents killing people for their faith? Where have I heard this one?...Catholic pagan persecutions(sorry I'm a Odin worshipper )? Gestapo and political enemies and Jews? hmmm

4. Ulfric hates Elves... this makes him a rascist bigot?... They were in a violent war with the High Elves for years, hell U.S. people called Japanese people horribe things during war, it happens and helps to be little a people you are fighting, plus they are responsible for said executions and persecution. Second of all he invited and allowed landless Dark Elves into his city while not trusting them. They live in a crappier part of the city but at least he did not let them die outside the walls. and why trust Elves who worship a Daedric god of murder and deceit. At least he gave them a home...They hating High Elves probably helped.

5. Is he after the crown for himself? Yes, he wants power. Will he be better for the PEOPLE of Skyrim? Far better. Like the real Roman Empire, Cyodill is a dead nation squeezing its occupied lands to stay afloat. Like in Dragon Age, the kind King of the Dwarves was a worse choice for his people while the selfish Dwarven King actually improved the lives of his people.

^^^This times a billion. I can not understand why people hate the Stormcloaks and love the Empire. Honestly, the Empire reminds of every a**hole European nation that thought it was a good idea to become imperialist *cough* England, Spain, France, ect. *cough*.

Eh, not so much roleplay as being a character. I almost never have anything important to contribute to Skyrim threads other then, "im indifferent" or, "i slightly think this".

Still, the Empire is dying, without a Dragonborn emperor and without their god Talos, they've become little more than a shadow of their former selves, If the Empire stays the way it is, the Thalmor will eventually assimilate it, its a guarantee.

Ulfric didnt break any laws by killing Torygg, its clearly stated multiple times that, using an old tradition, Ulfric challenged Torygg to single combat and won the right to become High King.
It does show just how much the Empire has destroyed Nord culture. Ulfrics completely right in wanting his peoples traditions and culture to remain intact, sure he's power hungry, but he's charismatic, and clearly a capable warrior and commander, something that the people of Skyrim need to stand up to the Thalmor. No I dont agree with his racism, but if Skyrim is going to remain Skyrim, he's its best chance

It was an honorable duel, like those fist fights you have... But he used Thu'um on the king, no one SAYS it, but that sounds a bit dishonorable right there, the King cant shout, and so few people know about shouting in the first place, i imagine it was a surprise to everyone there. He shout stunned him and stabbed him, might as well use poison. I gotta disagree with the Horse thing though... Wherever your going, their will be ingredients to harvest and monsters to fight, you'll get someplace faster while harvesting if your not hopping on and off your horse EVERY 15 SECONDS.

What was that last bit about? And how is shouting dishonourable? The ability to shout is considered a great honour, worthy of respect by most Nords, Ulfric was simply the more capable warrior

The horse thing, i found myself getting on and off the horse constantly to farm ingredients or fight a monster, or just using the wagon carriage to get somewhere fast, never have owned a horse on 150 hours of play lol. Great honor ? Anyone can learn how to shout through with training, kind of like magic, which nords disdain with their ignorance. It was a concealed weapon, it wasnt a fair fight, a fight the king didnt have to accept because he had nothing to gain and everything to lose, and he was still young too. Theres no way you can call that fight honorable, he just wanted to show off his power.

Also, where was this honorable warrior in the siege of Windhelm? On his throne, not out with the troops, protecting the city ! That sounds like a bad tradition, reminds me of the Frost Giants tradition to becoming Jarl in Mask of the Betrayer (hilarity)

I actually like the fact that neither side is a shining example of goodness. It's a nice change from, "This side is bad, this side is good." Although, I must admit it has made it really difficult to decide who to join. However, I've been leaning toward the Imperials.
Last night, I spoke first with a Nord just outside of Ulfric's palace. He told me--as did all non-Nords in the city--about how much of a racist Ulfric is. I was given a quest to clear out some bandits who have been raiding other races in the town, but not the Nords. Because of that, Ulfric leaves them alone, even though they are attacking people who are supposed to be under his care. Not exactly the shining paragon of justice he makes himself out to be. Then I spoke with the man himself.
That settled it. He spent most of the conversation complaining about the Empire doing the EXACT SAME THING that he's been doing to his own people. How he's tired of Nords giving everything, even their lives, for the Empire and seeing nothing in return. Really? You mean like all the workers on the docks? Or the Dark Elves? No, Ulfric would make a horrible ruler of Skyrim. I'm not saying the Empire is all roses, but they are, to me, the lesser of two evils. The Empire at least allows people to live in their lands. Ulfric, by the words of his very own people, would "ship every non Nord out of Skyrim" as his first order of business.

Torygg still accepted though, and since Shouting is something any Nord can do, unlike other types of magic, its completely fair in a duel.
And I never mentioned anything about horses
And for your last point, it would be very stupid for a general to take part in a battle, theyre the one who are supposed to organize plans of attack and thihnk up strategies etc. Ulfric was doing what anyone who isnt an idiot would do
