My hair has just reached my nipples. Unfortunately many people take me for a metalhead now. Still, my hair often does the picking up for me as I've been approached by countless girls asking me if they could have my hair due to its natural colour and consistency.
On others, I like long hair, though short hair suits some girls really well. On guys I don't give a toss as I'm not exactly attracted to them.

Most of my hair is starting to reach the length where it gets in the periphery of my vision.

My hair is just about shoulder-length, but I don't like it. It doesn't matter what length it is, I still don't like it. I have thick, fluffy, frizzy hair and it just doesn't look good no matter what I do with it. That, and I shed worse than a cat.
I'd cut it really, really short, but I have a bald spot on my head (birthmark) that I'd kind of prefer to keep covered up, and if it's not super-short then I have the chia-pet problem that someone else mentioned.

Mid-neck length at the bank. I also have naturally spiky bangs that cover my forehead if I don't gel them back.

When I was younger, my hair was so long it was down past me arse. Then around 13 years old I chopped about 2 foot of it off so it came to shoulder length.
Since then I've taken to having it long at the sides and VERY short up the back. Infact I like it that short up the back I get every single kind of scissors used on it and an electric shaver thingy. So my hair at the back looks like a Marine barber has had a go at it.
But now I'm trying to grow all the layers out that I had cut in last year which is really annoying because I can't tie it back. I'm trying to get it all one length. Plus it's been every colour under the sun, my last colour was Cadbury Purple. XD
On a guy though it sounds really stupid but I kinda like emo hair for some reason. Guys can carry it off really well though.

The general opinion I've heard is it's more 'liberating' to grow your hair but I find longer hair to be more of a problem, when it's short you don't have to worry about it getting in your way or spending longer washing/drying it or having to tie it back etc. and in the end isn't that more liberating?

I recently buzzed it and no, I wouldn't change it... Despite the impending winter weather. **idiot**... But I honestly don't have any preference for hair length on a girl besides longer than mine... Even if it's not by much, if she can pull off short hair, good for her. HA
Short normally, these days I am growing it out a bit at my girlfriend's request. I have extremely thick curly hair that seems to turn into an afro. We'll see how long it is before she realizes her mistake.

Before I cut it, it was shoulder length and really irritating. Now it's quite short at the back, but still with a bit of a fringe. All of the badly coloured bits have now gone, thankfully - I bleached it white a couple of years ago and then, a few months later, dyed it blue. I have no idea why and I won't be repeating the experiment because my hair's so thin now that I fully expect to have a bald patch by my next birthday.
