Technically the quake is the fault of the fault that runs through the country, thus the ground is literally and very slowly tearing itself apart.

Also it should be considered that a quake like this would fuck up a lot of people even in the most well developed nations on the planet. You can be mad that the government sucks and that's fine, but that really isn't a good metric of why the earthquake did what it did.

Mother nature will buttfuck you without lube no matter how much lube you have on the bed. Just saying.

Let me explain why I ranted about the politics, since you seem like you’re now very invested in hand waving that so we can all run headlong into another Clinton Foundation pillaging. It’s because they create an order of magnitude more deaths, as any simple google search would’ve demonstrated.

And the Sumatra Quake killed over 250,000.

I mean yes the government could do a lot of things to help their people, and I understand your frustration. But It feels like you are just using the quake as an excuse to complain about the Hatian government when you could easily do that without a natural disaster being used as a catalyst.

Additionally, we don't know what the final tragic toll from this event will be. If the numbers are hopefully much less than 200k, what can you say that will prove the government hasn't improved if you use the Quake as your example?

Well their President was just assassinated by Colombian mercenaries hired by a Floridian doctor so I imagine their government isn’t super ready to deal with this.

Edit: I’m not just using this as an opportunity to talk about the incredible evil that has been inflicted on the Haitian people year after year. I am talking about that because there is no understanding why this earthquake will be so devastating without that knowledge, to emphasize why this natural disaster among so many others is worth taking note of, to create a frame of reference for how to take note of it/how to respond (avoid another NGO pillaging), and yes, also as an opportunity to talk about said evil being inflicted on the Haitian people because said evil is ignored by the citizens of its perpetrators who then throw their hands in the air and say “Haiti is just corrupt” as if that’s any better than Pat Buchanan saying they brought it on themselves for worshiping Satan.
