How exactly would one continue the Half-Life story? How would anyone fight a multidimensional war against that kind of a empire?

With a crowbar, obviously.

Someone in product descriptions is probably having a good Trololololololol right now "GTA V PC and HL3" are pretty much the "We found Jimmy Hoffa!" of videogames right now. Two wet dreams in one? Nope. This seems like a bit of a laugh at our expense.

That's kind of what I was thinking as well, but it was too good not to share. Personally, I never cared much for Half-Life series until the Cinematic Mod for Half-Life 2.

I'm thinking it's just a little joke by the writer. And I think it's safe to assume that HL3 IS a thing and IS being worked on in some fashion. It doesn't need confirmation, it needs completion.

Everyone already knows that Half Life 3 was confirmed by the new Techies hero in Dota 2 [http://hydra-media.cursecdn.com/dota2.gamepedia.com/c/cb/Tech_rare_05.mp3]. It's no coincidence that there's three of them.

Really though, I doubt it's legit. Half Life 3 is little more than a joke by now - even to Valve, who, as mentioned, makes a reference to the "Valve can't count to three" gag with their new Dota 2 hero. ASUS probably made the joke to say that the card wouldn't need upgrading for a while.

I have personally lost any care for Half Life 3 ever coming out. It has been so long and their has been many better games to come out.

At this point, if valve released Half Life 3 it will be too late. There would be such high expectations for the game, that everyone will be disappointed by it. It would be what happened to Duke Nukem Forever again, except with a better game.
