I wouldn't be surprised if they hadn't even started making HL3 yet, and even if they haven't, I actually don't care. I'm not hyped for it, so I've got no expectations other than "As good as a Valve game". So as long as they spend the time to actually make something worthwhile and don't just through something out to appease to the crowd who cares how long it'll take? There's plenty other games out there and plenty other things to do in the meantime and you probaly won't die before it comes out anyway.

Remember that game everyone was excited for because it was in Development for TEN years? I think it was called Duke Nukum Forever. IT sucked. Being in development that long is a very BAD thing. it means more feature creep (Features that are cool on paper that don't fit with original design plans), rewrites, re-engineering, re-rewriting, etc. If HL3 has been in it for 6 years now, then it is better that it never gets released.

I wonder how many Valve fanboys who believe in HL3 think they're smart by asking religious people to prove the existence of God.

Yeah? Well that's all well and good but I'd prefer it was in my hands as a finished product.

Well i believe in God and I believe in Half Life 3 and i am a Valve "fanboy" so you can count one out.

OT: Did we need this thread? Evryone that is waiting for the game knows Valve are the only ones that can deliver it. Those who don't care, don't care. Let's avoid making threds like this. It just gives haters ample opportunity to ***** about it.

I'd say I want the game to come out just so you people will stop freaking talking about it, but then you'll just pick up things speculating about Half Life 4, because you just can't let sleeping dogs lie.
Let Sleeping Dogs Lie is my Black Sabbath cover band.

Actually, how has nobody taken that as a band name yet?

Anyway.

What's the point of this thread? Most people aren't even anticipating Half-Life 3 anymore, they're just like "Eh. I'll get it when it comes out, until then, whatever." because Valve has been teasing about it for far too long now. Has it even had an official announcement that it's definitely being worked on?

I'd say that the problem certainly lies with the consumer if no game in the known universe is worth waiting for at all.
I have a Spore poster tacked on my wall for that reason.

. Half life 2 took six years to develop, and that's widely considered to be one of the best games of all time. Do far, Half Life 3 has been in development for under five years. Captcha: Time Will Tell. Indeed.
