Online fps games on consoles , after years of being a PC guy and using a mouse+KB and not practicing with a controller for this sort of game I suck balls at it. (note this is not a dig at console gamers or anyone else )

I usually suck at survival horror games because I'm uncomfortable with dying in video games and they usually have the most graphic death scenes, so I'm a nervous wreck and hemorrhage ammo every time a shadow flits across the wall.

Fighters I have to say. Not because I am a bad player though. There was a time where I knew almost every single move with Kristie on Tekken, but even then it would be possible to lose when playing with friends by having them spam random buttons and ABSOLUTELY ALWAYS I am the one who is the one to get the hit. Yeah, I'm doing a full body summersault and I'm being stopped by a freakin toe-nail.

Other than that, I can't consider myself an extremely good player in RTS either, even though I enjoy them. I just have that passive, defensive style of play, which doesn't really work well on multi-player. I play these games because I enjoy the developing part, not the zerging.

Everything else I consider myself good enough as long as you give me 40-60 minutes of free play to get used to the controls, physics, timings etc.

I've never been good at the Metroid games. I beat Prime 1 and Fusion with the help of guides, but when I try to do things on my own, I get easily lost and bored because I wish they had a warp feature like in the Metroid-vania Castlevania games. I really hate the constant backtracking.

Since I never had PC games growing up, I expect I would suck hard at RTSs. I might be okay at them, with time, but I never had any practice.

On a related note, I'm horrible at tactical RPGs. Even ones that are considered kinda easy like some of the Fire Emblem games, my luck is terrible with these games. They all take too long for me, and I always try to make sure that none of my units die (if they can't be replaced), so I screw up a lot. Which makes me feel bad because all my best friends kick ass at tactical RPGs.

Speaking of RPGs, I tend to suck at games that have one-click combat. Oh, how I ABSOLUTELY F*&%ING HATE one-click combat. My first time with it was with KOTOR, and I practically rage quit because of the combat system. Then Bioware brought it back in Dragon Age, the bastards. Boring ass shit, easy to screw up (in my opinion), and never fun. The only game that had that kind of combat, but better, was Xenoblade Chronicles.

1) Resonance of fate . I swear this game makes me feel like i have a mental disability , i just don't get it . I saw someone playthis on a live stream once and was marveled at how well he was doing and how bad i was at it . I could barely beat regular enemies pet alone bosses . I have no idea how anything works in that game , even after doing the tutorial 3 times .

Res of Fate is freakin impossible i gave up on it :/
The tutorial really doesn't explain the mechanics well, there's some better video on Youtube that can help you out. But believe me, once you get it, you're golden.

OT: Any FPS or Fighting game ever. I am forced to play them with my sister just so she can beat me at them.

Everything except most Zelda games, KotOR 1&2, Oblivion&Skyrim and Dragon Age most of the time. I'm also somewhat proficient with the newer Fallout games and stuff like Torchlight and Diablo. Anything but those, I'll suck more ass than a monkey on crack

Even then I consider myself a adept gamer since I can beat Bullet Hells, Platform Hells, The Battletoads: Battlemaniacs Race, and Shin Megami Tensei games.
Hell yeah Shin Megami Tensei. Those games are so full of cheating computer bullshittery, so *why do I love them so much*

Anyway.

I suck at...
- Persona 4 Arena. I never claimed to be good at fighting games, but total noobs can beat me at this. At least with Soul Calibur I didn't *entirely* suck. I still feel like a bad Persona fan because of this, though. :p
- Ar tonelico. Seriously, anything with a reflex component is just...just...ugh. Except DDR! I'm good at DDR. It's non-rhythmic reaction time tasks that are problematic.
- Platformers. Yes. All of them. I just don't have the sanity to repeat stages over and over and over and over again. I prefer story games, and I don't want your gameplay dicking me over and keeping me from seeing my story.

Any RTS ever made. I'm just terrible at them. Maybe it's something genetic, or perhaps someone dropped me on my head when I was a kid but I can't for the life of me play a decent RTS match.

I normally like FPS games.

But I'm absolutely horrendous at most of the "hardcore" FPS's (Counter Strike, Team Fortress, you know 'em).

Oh well. At least in Battlefield you can compensate for your lack at "twitch" skills with a good ol' tank and some friends to spot for you (or fly around in a heli with a good gunner).

I understand how you feel. As much as I love ICO, I'll admit some of the puzzles in that game confused me so much that I had to use a guide. How was I supposed to know you can SWING on those chains?
That was my issue exactly, it doesn't give any guide whatsoever on how to do things. I despise games holding my hand, but mechanics should be shown to you, even subtly at least once. It's like playing a new sport where nobody wants to tell you the rules.

I actually just beat the game. I love the artistic style and the story, they are just about enough to override my frustration with the mechanics I think.

OT: Another game I remembered, thanks to somebody else mentioning it:

Counterstrike.

I am competent enough to know how to do stuff and how it's "supposed to be played", but I still get my arse kicked all the time by anybody who has spent any real time on it. I am just not as intuitively good at it as much as I am other games.

I'm bad at all of them. Every single one I play.

Because Asians. :(
Same I always am ashamed to pick the "new to gaming" difficulty even though I've been playing games all my life.

RTS
I like RTS as a concept, but "micromanagement" and "fast-paced multi-tasking" just isn't my forte. I'm much more of a "big picture" and "focus on one thing at a time" kind of guy. I WANT to like RTS, but I suck at them so bad. I can never get through the campaign when the difficulty starts to climb and there's no way I'd ever play against a human opponent.
I'm in exactly the same boat, it's the "fast-paced multi-tasking" that gets to me. I like to pay attention to detail and immerse myself in the mechanics, but I can't do that while I'm getting my ass handed to me. I go into panic-mode :(

What else, online FPS! I love the genre, but those people online are nuts with their amount of dedication.

Racing games, unless they involve weapons of a sort, like Mario Kart or Jak X etc.

This is a big deal to me in a way because my brothers are big racing fans and we like to play them, so do a lot of my friends. I basically always come last, by several laps. I never complain about it to them, but it does bother me.

Pretty much every strategy game. And, well, every game. I mostly play them on medium, and then sometimes hard. Pre-Project 8 Tony Hawk games were the only ones I could play and beat on the hardest difficulty. I mostly play games for fun, not for a challenge. Online FPS games, I usually end up breaking even on, or slightly higher K/D ratio. I despise camping, and just run out and shoot, so I tend to die a lot more than everyone else, but ended up on top in a lot of games for a while.

I have never ever beaten the Original Super Mario Bros. from the European All-Stars collection. I beat 3, World then after a long hard time American 2 but 1 is just too hard for me.

I'm awful at a few multiplayer shooters like some Cods, Gears of war, Team fortress.

And the Car driving games in the arcades. Even the arcade styled non-simulator racers I'm terrible at.
