Fighting game single players are the epitome of AI reading your controls to curb stomp you, especially Mortal Kombat 2 and 3. Have you ever tried Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3? Motaro still gives me nightmares.

Fighting games single players are either way too hard or easy. Tatsunoko is pretty well-balanced as is the original Marvel Vs. Capcom. It depends on whether the AI reads your inputs or not.

So don't feel bad for cheating AI.
I had forgotten about that...and it reminds me of games like Mario Kart Wii and other racers that have severe rubber banding (I think) which are difficult for all the wrong reasons (seriously though, Mario Kart 7 and Wii you can get ***** slapped by combo attacks)

---

I have beaten Mega Man X but I've never been able to beat Mega Man 2 despite making it to Dr. Wily.

The problem with Mario Kart Wii is that around 6 other racers have the chance of ruining your life with a Blue Shell, leading to the hilarious situation where you get hit with 3 blue shells in a lap. In 7 they decided that the AI in 150cc should have your same Top Speed, basically making Heavy characters useless at that mode and forcing you to use Toad. Also they really stepped up the combo slaps in those games. Mario Kart DS and Double Dash were actually fair.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Also Dr. Wily is pretty unfair (Except in 3), as shown on the Game Grumps Megaman 7 he has a basically undodgeable attack. Megaman 9 continues with his shenanigans and ruined my no energy tank run.

All RTS. And those turn-based ones where you take over stuff and research and trade and the like. You know.

The turn-based I've always been bad at, slow and considered isn't really my game. RTS I used to be good at, then something happened and I suddenly became unable to win on any setting greater than ultra-noob. Even the same damn games, I have no idea what went wrong but I suddenly can't play things like Age of Empires, Command and Conquer, Empire Earth or Warzone something-something to save my life. I fair better at Dawn of War, but I'm gonna put that down to Space Marines.

I am terrible at RPG's (except Fable 3. I seriously tried dying on purpose and I still lived). Of the games I have, 40 percent are RPG's. I get my ass kicked so easily by them it's unbelievable. I actually have had to stop playing a game because it was kicking my ass so much.

Umm...all of them? I kinda suck at video games in general, although most of the time me getting stuck is due to me not understanding how to surpass something rather than being incapable of executing it if that makes sense.

Stupid fighting games! Marvel vs Capcom, Streetfighter, Mortal Combat, you name it and I suck at it.

Guilty Gear, but that's only because I haven't played it much. I blow up scrubs for sure, but I get blown up anyone half decent. This will no longer be the case once GGXXAC+ hits XBLA. I'll be grinding!

Other than that, I'm fraudlike status at any non-cart racing game.

Starcraft and the entire Total War series (probably because I was never really interested in the latter) Also all sports games that aren't Fifa.

Games (especially FPS titles) that use console controllers.

I grew up with mouse and keyboard so using your thumbs for nearly everything renders me practically useless at playing them.

Every online FPS ever, I am just not wacked out enough on Mt. Dew and rage to play those effectively. And the majority of fighters save Soul Caliber 2 on the Gamecube, I would literally obliterate every mofo that ever went up against me in that game in like two seconds flat. God, I wish I still had that game.

I can be proficient at most any game I try, but there's one series that regularly kicks my ass:
Metal Gear.

I can't beat a single game in this series, even on the easiest difficulties. Which is a shame, because I absolutely adore the story and presentation of Metal Gear Solid 2, the single most astoundingly meta work of fiction ever crafted.

I found that I'm incredibly terrible at turn-based strategy games (small-scale). I recently decided to give one a whirl and try Wizardry. I couldn't get past the first encounter. Tried two times, quit, and haven't picked it back up since.

I suck at MvC. Even on easy I always get hammered after about 3 fights. Plus RTS, I like some but my tactic is just basically tank rush.

Modern Warfare 3 "yes i am a COD fan" I am simply amazing at Black ops in multiplayer but MW3 I feel like a damn meat shield for the better player dead in 30 sec most of the time. Damn its annoying.
But it's the reason you love it, an experienced veteran is also a tired one in the CoD franchise. LOVED IT back in Modern Warfare, now I avoid playing FPS games unless I go to someones house, and they don't own MvC3, or go outside, or have cable..

I suck at RTS games, maybe I don't have the patience, or I just don't care but i simply can't beat people on them! And man do i suck at Final Fantasy, or it sucks at me enjoying it IDK

Almost every FPS ever. I don't consider myself a good gamer, with a select few that I truly excel at, but every time I pick up an FPS I become this bumbling idiot who can barely shoot properly and I usually end up getting lost in the map. I think half of it is that FPS games are fairly boring to me so I've never been properly motivated to get good at one. I remember playing Golden Eye as a kid with my brother and just hoping he'd pop in something else. There are some exceptions, like Bioshock and Deus Ex. Wish I could get into half-life more though.

I'm also fairly mediocre at most co-op games, regardless of what they are. I'm terrified to try and play LoL, but that's partially because I feel like the community will eat me.

This.

And because I never want to be the sad "I'll just watch" guy at parties, my friends are constantly kicking my ass at everything.
