Well... It's been on it for a while but it was buggy and incomplete. Now though... It's finally here.

What we're talking about is Halo Online, AKA ElDewrito. And holy hell, I can't believe none of you turds brought this up sooner. Anyway though, the 0.6 update has been released and now the game is ready for mass play. It's basically Halo 3 as you know and loved with lots of enhancements in it but three big caveats.

1. There's no Theater mode.

2. We don't have many of the maps that were on the Mythic disc.

3. There are no playable elites.

Hopefully, all of these will be resolved in time, but I have heard from the Halo Online devs that Theater definitely is coming. Also, again, there have been some huge enhancements made. The biggest ones being:

1. Greatly expanded Forge mode.

2. Custom Games browser.

3. Some new maps.

4. Some new weapons.

5. Completely optional assassinations, sprinting, and armor abilities. And seriously, these really are completely optional. It's all actually turned off by default.

Anyway though. Join us. It's your destiny.

I'd probably be really excited by this if it was 2008.

Why would anyone care about a Russian copy of a cancelled Halo 3 clone game of only the multiplayer with fewer maps?

It's Halo 3 on PC with added stuff and a Custom Games browser, but if that doesn't excite you at all then you must not have been a true Halo 3 fan.

This IS Halo 3. lol Not some cheap ripoff. It's Halo 3 on the Halo 3 engine, with the (mostly) Halo 3 UI with Halo 3 maps and Halo 3 gametypes. Microsoft released Halo Online in Russia to test but then shut it down. Modders swiped the files though and have made it much bigger and better and more stable.

Granted I didn't know Halo 3 Russian release had been cancelled, but is it full Halo 3? Single player and all? Cause that's the only thing I'd want to replay. Multiplayer halo never did it for me

Oh, you wanted the SP? Yeah, it doesn't have that. It's just the MP of Halo 3... The devs and the fans (me as well) would love to have a Firefight mode implemented, but you know. Small team with limited time and resources.

Thing is though, Halo 3's campaign was never really considered to be super great at all. I'm surprised you wanted to play that instead of the MP. If you never liked MP Halo then I guess this probably won't convince you, but if you liked it even a little, you'll love this. Halo 3's MP is a masterpiece of FPS design, and ED redelivers that for the PC finally.

I probably have 400 or so hours in Halo 3, and I bought the game multiple times on xbox 360 (multiple lan party accidents with discs scratching). It was my go-to game with friends and it had the best split-screen couch multiplayer of any game.

Without that there's really no point playing it, so it's defining feature it automatically missing from PC, and the PC version doesn't add anything to make it better than the original version that came out in 2007.

Like I said, if this had come out in 2008 I'd probably have picked it up and had 2 copies of Halo 3, one for console to play casually with friends, and one for PC to play by myself. It's been over a decade though, I have no interest in playing some janky cobbled Halo 3 multiplayer by myself.

Actually, you can play splitscreen up to four players. Or at least play it with as many windows as your PC can handle, but it's not a very demanding game. It is a bit clunky but works great once you get it started and it's even more painless if you have a guide. Which I already posted.

Who is going to play a shooter in split screen on a PC? That sounds awful in every way. Hell, I have a 32" 1440p monitor and that's STILL too small for good split-screen. Not to mention where the hell are you going to put multiple keyboards and mice? And there's no way in hell I'm playing a multiplayer shooter on PC with a controller.

You can hook up your PC to your TV or use something similar to steam link. Well you CAN use several controllers on PC, maybe you don't want to but it's possible.

OT: It's fun and all but I'd rather have the old gun models, sounds etc and be able to play it in higher framerates. More than anything I hope this proves to Microsoft that players on PC still have interests in Halo.

I COULD hook my PC up to my TV, but then I wouldn't be able to play with a keyboard and mouse, and like I said there's no fucking way I'm playing a competitive multiplayer shooter on PC with a controller, that's just a recipe for getting stomped.

I'm much more of a Co-Op person. As both a younger brother, and someone who had dial-up for most of his life, I don't have great memories of Versus gameplay and really would prefer to leave it for others - not against it and more power to people who do enjoy it, its just not for me.
A firefight mode(If I remember from ODST and Reach, that's the 4 people vs. NPC enemies for like 20 Waves...?) would be great! I am all about Co-Op shooters and team work! Get a Firefight mode or the SP* and you have my support!

[small]*Note on SP: ain't saying its amazing, and I personally think ODST and Reach, being tangential stories, were more emotional and tighter written, but I do remember the main-story Halo games being genuinely and generally a good time[/small]

The classic Halo 3 gun models can be modded in very easily, just so you know. If there's one thing 343 did get right though, it's Halo 4's shotgun design. It looks and sounds sexy as hell compared to the other past shotguns.

In that case, I'd definitely point you to SPV3.

Have they fixed the field of view in this version of the game?

I couldn't play Halo 3 on the 360 because it gave me major motion sickness after just a few minutes.

FOV is fully adjustable with further options to adjust where the weapon is on your screen.

Ok but why wouldn't i just play my superior xbox 360 version that already has everything like theater mode, playable elites and mythic maps?

Because then you'd have to deal with 640p and worse graphics overall, 30fps and less, controllers, a more limited forge mode, pay to play an online game that barely anyone plays anymore, no server browser, no dedicated servers, not being able to change settings like fov, no text chat and more.

Halo 3 is still playable on the 360, through backwards compatibility on Xbox One, and available as part of the Master Chief Collection on Xbox One. There are legit options out there, as well as Halo 5 Forge Edition for PC.

Then there's piracy, which this clearly is.

It's a fact, boy. I know you're a hardcore Nintendo fanboy but please learn to accept that people actually care about graphics.

This one is ''legit'' as well, it was even acknowledged by 343i. If MS wanted to stop it they could, for like 2 years now.
