Halo 3 Is Now On PC

That's nice. But I still have Halo 3 on xbox360. I mostly play the single player anyway these days.

It's Halo 3 on PC with added stuff and a Custom Games browser, but if that doesn't excite you at all then you must not have been a true Halo 3 fan.

I enjoyed the game quite a lot. Didn't think it was as good as Halo:CE and Halo 2 but still great. I've easily spent 100s of hours on it. The first entry, Halo:CE, had a major impact on me, but even so, the concept of being a 'true fan' of it means absolutely nothing to me, and I certainly won't play something I don't really feel like playing in order to prove to you or myself that I liked something else a decade ago.

I'd have been interested if it was the single player. I wish Microsoft would just let them bring the Master Chief Collection to PC already. I tried playing the collection when I had the Xbox One, but the FOV of 2 onward was so nauseating, no amount of ginger tea was going to fix that.

As a PC gamer that only ever owned PlayStation consoles, I've never played HALO. This is pretty fun though. Lots of servers too and they're all populated.

3. people also care about content

having a game with prettier graphics but cutting out a chunk of the content is improving one area while taking away stuff. how about, oh i don't know, make a PC version that improves the graphics AND doesn't cut any content.

if i were to watch an old movie, i wouldn't want them to remaster that old movie in HD if meant they would delete 30 minutes of the entire film and have the audience miss out on content that was previously there.

This game, even in its current state, still has more content than most AAA games. And the content that isn't currently there wasn't cut. Saber did a lot of work but before they could finish it, Microsoft shut it down. The ED team picked it up but they can only do so much at the moment. They're restoring everything back as soon as they can write it in. But having said that, the core of this game is still absolutely here and they've added a lot onto it too that isn't there with vanilla Halo 3. So yeah, in summary, the core game is still here and it's just as insanely fun and customizable as it was before and there's a whole bunch of new stuff. Oh, and it's just freaking packed too. ~6,000 players last time I checked. I have a server and it only takes 10-15 minutes after startup to have a bunch of people in it.

Noone's suddenly gonna pull their 360 from their closet and pay for XBL to play Halo 3 online, especially not now when there's a free version available on PC right now. They miss out on DLC maps but if that was that important they would've still played Halo 3 on 360 instead.

You would care if you actually cared about playing online which you clearly don't. P2P is unreliable, laggy and has host advantage. Oh the host left your game? I hope you enjoy sitting through a blackscreen for 30 seconds while it migrates host, unless it's unable to do that and just boots everyone out of the game.

Text chat is easier, maybe not everyone wants to speak to a bunch of randoms and prefers to do it over text chat, that's why text chat exists in pretty much every PC game ever.

A more expansive forge mode than the one Halo 3 had, mouse and keyboard support as well as controller support which you can fully configure by the way, in-game stats...that's a couple more.

I was just on it about an hour ago, fucking about with customs. It had at, the time about, 5800 players. Right now, it's got people jamming servers, 'popular' PC FPS YTers are making videos about it and it runs so smoothly.

Would I like the SP? Yeah, I would, shit was good. But will I happily take a functional MP from a 2008 game, updated with modern features and graphics, all for free and happily relive and enjoy my first real MP gaming experience?

Project AM2R was in development for 10 years and even got released to the public before Nintendo shut down the project.

If Microsoft told them to shut down the project they would but as long as they're fine with it and are allowing them to do it there's literally no problem here.

If they do decide shut it down in the future I'd understand but it'd suck for sure.

I do hope that this project is proof enough that PC gamers actually want a proper and legal port on PC even if it results in getting shut down.
