At the beginning of Yahtzee's review of The beatles and Guitar Hero 5, there was an ad for Halo 3 ODST.

Did this ad make any sense to anyone? Did it make you want to go out and buy the game? Could you even tell it was an add for a 3d shooter?

Is it too much to ask for some gameplay footage so we know what the hell the ad is for?

EDIT: sorry, I am unfamiliar with ads that don't tell you what the game is.

..It is an ad. Get over it, and stop complaining.
This thread is stupid. There is no discussion. I'd rather have an ad for a game at the beginning of videos then this.

Everyone already know Halo is a 3D shooter, they don't need telling twice.

The ad made think "Cool, an ad for ODST"

Didn't sway me to buy it or not, though.

Actually, yes, that ad made me buy the game. I was on the rocks until I saw that ad. After, I was stoked for the game.

Besides, I'm a Halo fan, I've read the books. I know what ODST and UNSC stand for. I know what an Assault Rifle looks like.

And yes, the ad made perfect sense. I don't need gameplay graphics in order to know what a game is about or what the ad is for. Bungie has always succeeded in advertising, in my opinion. The Halo 3: Believe ad with the diorama was outstanding and gave me chills.

EDIT: I saw the ad a few weeks ago on TV. This wasn't the first time i'd seen it.

Actually, I quite agree about the ad. I don't like the ODST ad campaign nearly as much as I liked Halo 3's.

While Halo is such a known entity that they don't need gameplay footage to advertise it, why did they have to go with that? The John-117 memorial ads were interesting and made me REALLY want to play the game. I was pretty disappointed though that the huge battle with the grenade and everything never took place in the game, but they did their job well: got me pumped for the game.

Ads are weird. Have you seem over half the ads on tv? Most of them have nothing to do with the actual product...

I have to ask...

What ad? Was it actually in the video? I didn't see any add, except for that little Escapist news Network part and the end of the video.

Serious question, do you use an adblocker?

I didn't see any ad either.

Yes, I do. That's probably is why I didn't see it.

I just searched for the Believe advert, thank you, thank you so much, what a wonderful advert.

It gave me goosepimples.
