Already there has been about 3-4 people on my friends list playing ODST right now..

This being 2AM Alaskan Standard Time..and some stores having a midnight launch for ODST..so for those of you that have actually PLAYED it..what's your thoughts?

I receieved a message from one of my friends and it was "OMFG!!@#!#!@#" and a rather excited voice message a minute later..apparently he likes it.

I have yet to play it as I did not preorder, but I've heard good things from friends and even better things from proffessional reviewers. Of course by right I cannot really make an opinion without playing the game myself but so far it seems really interesting. Especially the element of stroy telling done through audio logs of a civilian.
I honestly think it looks good and if the reviews are any indication there are some clever ideas put into it as well.

My roommate got it at midnight and I went to bed at 1. it's now 6 and he's drinking coffee and slobering all over the place. I guess it's a win.

i really enjoyed playing the firefight mode with a friend for a few hours, but then he got off and i should probly be sleepign, i ahve to work ibn a few hours, lol. but i think it will be worth the moeny, the firefight alone with a few friends could be fun for many many hours =)

Anyone who seriously paid $60 for this garbage proves that fanboys are guillabe enough to buy anything with Halo slapped on it.

LoL, ladies and gentleman, what we have here is a perfect specimen of the not so elusive internet forum troll. Shocking how fast the mods got a ban out, they dont screw around xD

In any case I'm deffo gonna buy this game from work tommorow (Staff discount FTW ^^), I had my doubts about an expansion costing £35, but looking at the wiki on it, its the first game I've ever heard of to have a health system where minor damage is fully recovered CoD style, but heavy damage is permanent like Half-Life/CSS. Been waiting for a game to have this idea for ages.

Okay Urban Terror (Quake 3 Mod) did something similar, but you barely noticed it half the time, cause you usually wound up dead in half a second flat ^^

Plus a GoW2 horde like mode and a Co-Op campaign? I thought Co-Op had become dead in modern games xD

What about the first Halo? Far Cry 2? Resistance? Red Faction 2?

Yay, there is 1 good point to living on the west coast of Australia! First to get it! I've been playing campaign for a bit now, and I cant find fault with it. First cutscene was a little stiff, but appart from that everything played and looked beutiful.
Lucky!

Also lucky!
OT: I can't get it right now due to budgetary restraints, but I will be getting it as soon as I possibly can.

I have my copy but I'm grinding on getting the achievement for completing a campaign on L4D on Expert difficulty..and it's a sonuvabitch because if a common Infected hits you..it's -20 health..however there's generally less CI populating the levels.

I love the campaign - the missions are great action we've come to expect from Halo, and the nighttime city sequences are prefectly executed - the atmosphere and music are beautiful.

I like firefight but it's been laggy as hell. Might need to get some Aussies together if I keep getting lag with my US friends.
