Ok so yes, this is expensive for what seems to be an expansion. But wa-wa-wa-what? Better than Halo 3 itself? Uh huh yea, yea it is. I can tell this and I've only played for 45mins on campaign

And for those who didn't have any mappacks at all...this game is totally worth it. Because everyone knows that Halo 3 multiplayer is good and addictive.

And for all those Halo multiplayer haters out there, just turn off your mic and mute everyone else, because then you're guranteed for a good time.

Anyone who seriously paid $60 for this garbage proves that fanboys are guillabe enough to buy anything with Halo slapped on it.
You're already banned with your very first post and now it looks like you're going two-for-two with this one.

OP:I have some questions.

-Do you still have a shield? If no shield: is it as hard as I thought it would be without one?
-How are the new weapons? Does the silencing come in handy or is it just unecessary?
-How's the story compared to the others? I don't care about spoilers.

Answers would be much appreciated.

From what I heard, this game seems to be worth $25-30, with 8 hour campaign that can be played by most 2-3 times, and a multiplayer which could be fun for quite a while, assuming you prefer a dollar/hour return on your investment. I'll buy it if I ever see it at $25, otherwise seems to be pretty same after I overplayed Halo 1 and 3...

You do have a shield, but since Im playing on Legendary it seems a full Needler clip kills you quickly.
The silenced M7 is ok.
Only started the campaign about 20 minutes ago and Im playing on Legendary. I've died a few times. The new interface is a little difficult to get used to because the health/armor isn't like that of Master Chiefs. However the VISR is helpful.

Thanks.

I thought they were doing something slightly different but you still have a shield and (From what I've seen in videos) can still jump extremley high and you have the VISR. Is it just me or do the ODSTs seem to have more gadgets than Master Chief? I thought he was supposed to be the bionic super-soldier!

Well now I'm disappointed in ODST, I thought it was going to be more like RSV but with aliens, now it just seems like another Halo with a slightly weaker shield.

Already there has been about 3-4 people on my friends list playing ODST right now..

This being 2AM Alaskan Standard Time..and some stores having a midnight launch for ODST..so for those of you that have actually PLAYED it..what's your thoughts?

I receieved a message from one of my friends and it was "OMFG!!@#!#!@#" and a rather excited voice message a minute later..apparently he likes it.
why do you even bother asking, is a shitty halo game that you will like if you liked the other 4 shitty halo games

What about the first Halo? Far Cry 2? Resistance? Red Faction 2?
Halo: doesn't really count as it doesn't really represent getting wounded, more your shield being disipated and then your body taking damage. Although I see why you say it :)

Far Cry 2: Minor damage didn't recover you merely had a life bar that recovered when you used a health pack, although fair point that big wounds required special animation to heal, but still :)

Resistance: Alright will give you that one, but I'd say as a life system it needs more polish, Resistance just had a bar that would go down in blocks. No real realism to the damage you take :)

Red Faction 2: Never played it, and I really didn't trust that game enough to buy it. Seemed along the lines of Prototype and Infamous... they were good games, but they weren't great, adnt he only reason they were thought of as great is there has been litle to come out recently to challenge them :\

Although now that I think about it Metal Gear Solid 3 did have a very good wound system... that along with the fact I loved grabbing a guy round the neck from behind and threatening to give him a new mouth to breathe out of made it my favourite game of all time :)

My first impression is as follows. Why did I just download a trailer of the game I am about to be playing from the extra special menu?

I only played the story mode for about an hour, seems pretty good. Nathan Fillion is still the 1 liner machine he always is.

I saw a few minutes of it in play, and it looks surprisingly good. Can't wait to play it soon.
Just got it. It's great. Firefight is a lot of fun and the campaign is just as good.

I invested a couple hours into playing it and I am not impressed. Infact I don't think I will be playing it again (thank god it is just a rental from a monthly subscription so no money lost) because Iam not having any fun with it. Now before everyone goes off on how I must be anti Halo and blah blah blah I played 3 and enjoyed it. It had some whack mechanics that I don't like (standing or losing your scope everytime you get hit) but it but overall it was a solid game.

This on the other hand is not. I spent the first half hour fighting 2 sets of baddies then wandering around in circles looking for the door that looks like all the other doors to get to where I needed to be. Then another half an hour looking for the thingie to progress the story. Wandering around an empty city with half the directions you need is not fun. I am also not a fan of the whole jumping from character to character perspective. I also really hate the VR view (or whatever you call it). And worst of all the story doesn't seem to be all that important here and that bothers me. It is like it has already been told and they just threw in some cannonfodder for shits and giggles. Saddly even the achievements don't inspire me to want to beat it. So I will be returning it tomorrow so hopefully it will find someone who can appreciate it more than I do.

On the bright side it did inspire me to sit down and play a couple hours of the MP and what a blast. Too bad no one was talking for every match (other than one moron who I muted real fast since he was faking an orgasm).

I got it today and the co-op is amazing. Me and a freind played firefight mode for an hour and forty minutes and only ended it because it was getting a tad late. The campaign mode is fun but the only problem with it is that the good weapon (IE the SMG) have very small ammuniton counts and it doesn't take long to burn through it even if I'm not bullet hosing. The campaign also feels a bit samey because all the streets are a tad bland. Other than that it is quite fun and I look forward to the many hours I will spend with it.

just finished campaign on normal, i thought it was very enjoyable. i guess u can call me a halo fan. i like it, i don't love it, but i like it. anyway i did feel it was a bit too short and yeah if u hate halo its not different enough to be worth getting into. but its a solid story, much better then halo3's, i started getting attached to the characters like i did in Cod4 (to make it PERFECTLY CLEAR COD4 is STILL WAY better so please don't flame me because i compared the two games).

anyway, its something pretty decent to hopefully keep me occupied until November, when i hibernate in my room for MW2 and Assassin's Creed 2.

my only compliant is the story is way too short and firefight doesn't have matchmaking =p

Been playing it off and on since and it feels more like it should have been $20 DLC..even on Legendary difficulty, however it did come with a disc with all the Halo 3 multiplayer maps.

Actually I take back my last post..It's been growing on me and Im getting to love it more and more..

Heck it was hella laggy firefight about 30 minutes ago,and all 4 of us were lagging bad,but the coolest, most redeeming part of this game..even though there's lag..you can still make headshots and you can still move about..albeit with lag..but it was still nice..2 other players mentioned that about the same time I did..we could still kill enemies.
