Halo 3's Ending (one question)

The Arbiter was nearly crushed by the tank, but MC was.

THAT WAS THE REAL ENDING.

THE MASTER CHIEF DIED. END OF STORY, END OF FRANCHISE.

DON'T TELL ME ANYTHING DIFFERENT.

I WILL STOP DOING THIS WHEN PEOPLE STOP PROPHECISING A HALO 4.

I will stop prophecising when you stop using caps.

Way ahead of you man. Did you even check out the date I posted that?

Funnily enough, I remember posting it though. Who woulda guessed?

The Arbiter (it's a title, not a name) was in the cockpit of the ship. The ship was severed in half in the explosion and only the Arbiter's half made it back to earth while John's half drifts through space.

Edit: I just realized that I posted in a thread that is over 2 years old......

I thought the planet in the middle of the ark was the forunner homeworld, since penitent engine or whatever the little blue droid is called was all like, "it appears to be..oh my."

No, the planet in the middle is just the Arks moon

and to the topic in general, the arbiter flys it while the mc catches up on some gossip with cortana in the back, and the portal becomes unstable and so tears the ship in two, the front end makes it back to earth, the back end is somewhere - anywhere in space.

No I didn't notice the date I forgot I was searching for a name and cam across that thread by accident. Sorry about that.

Halo 3 ends like that because it's in keeping with the Spartan II motif that Spartans never die (they're just listed as MIA, since in theory the public death of a Spartan would be serious blow to morale).

At least, that's what I hope.

Have to admit, Halo 3 was one of the worst directed/written games I've ever played...
