Sort of an anti-thesis of the other threads: Such as Halo 4: Missed opprutunity, and Halo 4: Underwhelming?

This is a thread that instead of fighting each other, we more or less discuss what we're looking forward to in the game rather then if we hate the series or not.

So on to that, I REALLY hope that in Halo 4 they begin to start introducing Halo fans that haven't read the books, characters from the books. I always feel like there is all of these characters that should be in the Halo games, but almost like they vanish. It would be cool that in Halo 4, Master Chief at one point meets back up with Linda, Kelly, Fred, and some of the Spartan-III's.

And I really hope they make clear who the villian is... They're hinting at the Didact... But he has no qualms with humans and in Primordium and Cryptum shown to not hate humans at all despite having fought a war against them. 343! Just tell us! D:

So what are you looking forward to in Halo 4. :)

More Halo means more Rooster Teeth videos.

Of that, I approve.

I also understand that previous employees of Pandemic Studios were hired by 343 to work on the games and that alone makes me want the new Halo games to be a success.

I am really really curious as to how they are going to solve the problem of Cortana's insanity.
In the trailer, she said herself that AI's go loopy after 7 years, and she is on year 8. Add in the fact that she has had to deal with the stupid amount of information about Halo for a long time (before Halsy wiped it from her memory) and the whole mess with the Gravemind, and I think we'll see her go completely insane at some point of Halo 4.

That is a really big deal! Cortana is almost as important to the story of Halo, as Master Chief! His armor is DESIGNED to have an AI in it, rather than "oh, it'd be nice to have an AI". Even the missions without Cortana feel empty and quiet without her.

I'm not going to say what I think they're going to do because it is just pointless speculation, but I am more or less buying the game just to see what happens.

Oh, and like you said, I hope we get to see some other Spartans in the game, that would be sweeeeet. Especially Kelly, she is awesome.

I would like it to be a good starting off point for people that never got around to playing the previous games.

<---- hint hint ;)

I'm very interested in this new faction. It almost looks in the trailer like their weapons make the Human and covenant weapons obsolete. At least vs these guys anyway.

More keen for the multiplayer than anything else since I haven't really enjoyed any of the campaigns aside from the first game. The new class system might suck horribly or turn out great, similar sort of deal with the random weapon spawns and other changes, but the maps shown so far look pretty awesome.

Then there's the Spartan Ops thing. Can't say I'm a fan of cramming a multiplayer mode full of story fluff, but a big pack of levels released every week? For free? If done well that might be the highlight in the long run.

Anyone know how long they plan Spartan Ops releases to go for? All I've heard are unverified rumours.

Looking forward to the Campaign and "Spartan Ops" (That name is lame if you ask me)

I'm trying to understand why we are fighting the Covenant still. Wasn't that the story behind Halo 3? That Humans and Aliens can live in Peace?

Also the Elites are our Allies, so why are we shooting them?

Anyway, I usually love Halo's multiplayer, Halo 2 and 3 were the best in that category if you ask me, but i think that Halo 4 is kinda becoming more Call of Duty'ish. Reach, I loved forge, but i think the multiplayer lacked. It didn't have the Halo feel..

I'm afraid that is whats going to happen to Halo 4, trying to be like Call of Duty and not staying true to it's roots, just like Reach.

P.S. I loved all the campaigns from all the games, (Including ODST), but Reach's Multiplayer = :(

I would be fine as long as 343 respects the established canon. After the plot hole ridden crapfest that was Halo:Reach, any respect shown to the books would be an improvement. When the story is so poorly placed together when even people who don't know the story can see them it's a bit ridiculous.

Whether or not Halo 4 will be good comes down to how good the story is. It wasn't the most original thing, but the thing that I loved about Halo:CE was how good the story was. Bungie lost it a bit in 2, brought it back a bit in 3, but as much as I enjoyed those games I always felt something in the single player was lacking. Whatever problems ODST might have, I did find the story fairly interesting, but of course bringing in what was essentially the cast of Firefly would help with that.

But I digress. If Halo 4 can tell a decent tale I could care less what the new weapons are or what have you. So few shooters try to put together an interesting story nowadays.

There are a lot of covenant out there, their empire is huge and there are trillions of them. This could be a Covenant holdout who refuses to accept the peace. Maybe they are terrorists?

If they make Halo 4 more infection friendly I'll love it, custom games with my friends makes it for me. I've always liked the campaign and this one at least looks interesting in that regard

The scenery looks amazing. I figure it will be worth buying just to explore the world like I have with other Halos. There is not a single Halo that wasn't worth exploring just for easter eggs and I hope 343 keeps up that trend.

The new forerunner weapons are not just "Orange shotgun" seriously, the way they are put together is really cool.

Also,
More rooster teeth.

Firefight is probably going to be fun with a friend or two, always is.

Will they allow custom maps and such? I remember Halo 3 jenga. That was legitimately the most fun I ever had with my xbox.
I was as disappointed as you when I heard that Firefight may not make te final cut.....

Apparently they'll be giving the Chief an actual personality. Of this, I approve. I mean yeah he had a personality in the books, but it'll be great to finally see it in the games.

I also hope custom games/forge are just as great customization-wise as Reach.

The campaign looks fun, the graphics look amazing for the 360 (they've really pushed it to the limit) and it's just gonna be awesome playing as Master Chief again.

Oh and the Regicide game mode sounds fun as hell :D

I just want to know why Master Chief is using the DMR in the trailer, when this is clearly not Reach, and the Battle Rifle has long since been invented.

Single-round vs 3-round burst with little recoil. Hm...

Methinks Chief has gone a bit loony in his isolation.

Yay, less brown dusty modern day environments and cover hugging, moar brightly lit vehicular rampage with clearly defined red/blue/green/pink teams! Hurrah, I'll actually be able to see enemies on my shitty old TV instead of moving dusty brown camo'd blob on dustier brownstone backdrops.

*cough* BF3 *cough*

Actually in Halo 4 there is a new version of both the DMR and BR in the game.

I too am interested in that. There's a really cool quick cut in the trailer where she appears to have gone batshit crazy. I think Cortana and her mental status may make this game more interesting storywise than any other before it... at least for me anyway.
