I think its her, someone spotted her lines on a script on another making of trailer so she might be in the game.

I could only make it about 5 minutes in. To be honest, I'm not concerned at all in what developers say about their own game or about what writers say in regard to their own story.

We will wait and see. I'm certainly expecting the motion capture and the acting to be top notch. But the story and the game itself? God knows. I didn't like Halo 3 much.

Well judging 3's writing/story for Halo 4 makes no sense since the writers of Halo 4 are none of the writers of Halo 1 - Reach.

That's because the Escapist is very pretentious and they tend to hate on things that are popular.

Although Halo isn't anywhere near as popular as it was several years ago. Call of Duty and Battlefield have certainly usurped it as far as FPS goes. Hopefully Halo 4 will do something a bit different and excite people again.

I was all ready to start cranking the sarcasm, but that was actually more interesting than I thought it would be.

I often wonder how developers manage to sound so sincere about character and narrative only to turn around and produce banal crap.

It looks interesting, it is strange to actually be seeing a trailer talking really heavily about Masterchief's character and personality considering for the most part in the other games he was more or less just a non-entity. I admit I am curious to see how this all shapes out, it could be really interesting. Cortana and Masterchief's relationship explored, whole new universe of possibility to use, it could be amazing.
I just hope they don't forget about the Arbiter and the Sangheili/human alliance. Right now it annoys me that the only Elites we've seen so far are just generic evil alien bad guys. That's the one glaring issue for me right now.

But still this does seem interesting, so I might give it a chance. That said-

There are no elites in multiplayer, it has already been fumbled.

Jokes aside, I wish they didn't That's just a step backwards. Why couldn't their be Elites? After all, the ones were killing are part of that 'Storm' faction, so we could play as the ones who aren't quite the genocidal nuts.

On the plus side, no Brutes in the game.

Yeah I'm now Vrex 360 (note the space). I'm not on Live yet though because I haven't got it set up and I'm going to be very busy with university studies until at least the end of October. Don't worry, when I get it back you shall be among the first people I add.

Well it's because the multiplayer follows a story whereas the others didn't. Multiplayer is your Spartan's 'training' and Spartan OPS is them actually going out into missions. So having an Elite on the most expensive human ship wouldn't make sense. Plus we haven't gotten a hold of the Thursday War book yet but from what I can gather...

The Elites are going to do some terrible terrible things. But I kept away from any specifics, so it may not even be completely true.

I'm aware of the multiplayer story, but couldn't they even throw in a bonus elite mode, or better yet, get rid of the "story" hastily stitched onto the multiplayer? On the book notice, I don't think I'm the only one going to consider that the non-canon ramblings of an author who does little to no research into Halo lore in order to strawman the side they think is wrong. Please note, I'm not being hostile towards you, it's just the first thing seems like a subpar addition that add nothing and takes away another option people enjoyed, and the second is Kareen Traviss completely butchering Halo lore with blatant falsehoods regarding the spartan program, and making the Elites like the brutes more than humans(!?!?).

I never really got why, honestly. The only part I could hate Halo for is the terrible online community but that's not actually Halo's issue, that's just because it's popular.

Halo isn't grey and brown but lush with plenty of visual variation, Halo isn't 'MURICA FUCK YEAH, Halo gameplay isn't run-of-the-mill ADS and if anything it plays more like Doom. I really don't get the hate. Halo is nothing like the current trend in shooter-land that started soon after the first Halo game. And yet it gets all this flak for what, exactly?

I've gotta say, I really, really like what I'm seeing and hearing so far. I just hope that there's real substance behind it and it's not all just marketing spiel.

Can't get myself that interested tbh, nowhere near the excitement i had for reach at this time 2years ago (and i didn't even have live then ). Probably just gonna miss out on Halo4 altogether and keep playing reach and ODST (yes i enjoy ODST )
