Halo 4 is a year and a half away and it will have been 2 years past when Reach came out.

Nice try at taking a blow at a game for no reason, next time try not to be so obvious while trolling.
4, 5, and 6 are going to be a year apart. This is just the beginning.

Next time think before assuming every post is a troll.
Where did you hear that? Or can we just make stuff up now? Sweet!!!

Master Chief will be 20 feet tall and able to shoot fire out of his feet. And he will be covered with Pepsi logos, because he is a sell out! I mean honestly, how dare he be in a game that is going to be two years after the previous one that he wasn't even in (discounting the anniversary edition)?

Continuing a story is not milking it. If there are (and there most certainly are) people who would want a new Halo game, how is giving them what they want a bad thing? Besides, the Halo series (or Bungie, at least. It'll be interesting to see what 343 does) is pretty good at mixing things up every game; new enemies, new weapons, new vehicles, etc. etc. I'm hoping this will be new and innovating while still having that "Halo" feel. Also, I like the onimous "this is just the beginning" warning. Yes, there are dark times ahead....

Wow, I had too much fun with those parenthesis.

I'm happy for them, it's an old shooter that keeps coming back every two to three years with something new up it's sleeves. As much as I dog Halo it does give a unique experience per game and that is welcome. I just wish I didn't have to spend insane amounts of time to unlock the friggin Mark 5 helmet every time.

Too many assumptions here, but lets just say they do start milking Halo. Most Mario Games are still high quality. Even if they are milking the series, Halo, just like Mario, didn't have this deep story that could be ruined, and I was kinda confused as to why the other what 4 rings just don't matter after the end of Halo 3.

Also am I the only one who wants Halo Golf and Halo Kart.
Halo Power Tennis?
yes please

As far as I know there has been no announcement that the new Halo trilogy will be a yearly release. Considering it's being made by 1 developer, I highly doubt it's even possible to release one every year.

I guess you're allowed to pout and whine if you want, though. More power to you.

The Halo series has generally had high quality games. Even ODST, the red headed step son of the series, is a relatively decent game.

From what I understand, Halo 4 has been in development for two years already, and theres another two untill its release. So its actually going to benefit from more development time, than every other game in the series has since CE.

List of words/phrases that gamers need to stop fucking using all the time -

- Milking
- Dumbed down
- Gimmick
- PC > X

Anything else that can be added?
Can we meet in real life so I can hug you for that?

You deserve a hug. Or 1000$ cash prize. Or something.

'Cause that's SO true.
i came in this thread, expecting massive elitism and pessimist whining, and i was fucking surprised and blown away. people like you honestly surprised me, (in the greatest of ways) the people calling halo a milking really don't see nor know all the details, its quite sad really, maybe i wouldn't mind it but the game is no where near ready to be coming out nor is it anywhere near the other halo installments...

I don't have strong feelings about the Halo franchise one way or another, but seeing the Halo 4 teaser sent up my cynicism flag. I can't help but hear "cash in!" ringing in my ears.

Not to say that I KNOW it will be bad game, but Bungie is gone. Sometimes an IP can find a new identity under new development lead, but usually when the original creator of something leaves, the "magic" goes with it.

And I know that the following is really cynical of me to say, but it's true...

Despite being rushed by their Microsoft overlords to meet release dates, I truly believe that Bungie made Halo as a labor of love.

I don't know if the 343 studios people are committed to doing something good with the IP, but I do know that Microsoft is making Halo 4 to make tons of money, period. Microsoft would likely execute Master Chief in a public square if they knew it would make billions.

...

I guess I went on a tangent there...

Anyway, I'll give a flip about Halo 4 when they tell me that the Arbiter is in it, the Arbiter is playable, and he gets to share the stage with the Chief, just like he did in Halo 2.
