argh its not a jetpack its just a couple of little boosters to move him in zero g. It probably wouldnt lift him in normal gravity, hence he never used them. (and lets just assume when he did jump out into space those couple of times he didnt need to use them because his aim was good)

I remembered how all my friends were saying how Reach would actually be the last Halo game and how I'm proving them wrong >:D
Cool, you work for 343?

In other news, I'm afraid to say I'm not that interested. Throughout Halo 2, 3 and then a little into Reach I've now officially lost interest in the series.

My captcha is telling me the name of the new antagonist: The Nyinand.

I really enjoyed the first Halo game up until the Flood appeared with their dastardly plan of cut-copying the levels to confuse me. Bastards!

Halo 2 was quite meh, Halo 3 had its moments, and ODST I thought was a nice change of pace for the series. I was hoping Reach would have a more darker atmosphere then it did. Still enjoyable but not quite the experience I was hoping for.

Halo 4 trailer does not give much away. I don't expect a huge departure from the blueprint: solid singer player, fun co-op, and a good knock about in multiplayer.

As an avid halo fan (not quite fan-boy, but getting there) i can honestly say i'm not too excited about this. It just feels like a massive cash in.

Also, my main thought was "where the hell did he get a jetpack from? he didnt have that before! Also, why is everything on fire? STILL!? I thought this was space?"

Pah, maybe its just because there is so little to see...

IN OTHER NEWS, i DID almost cry when the announced Halo:CE remake... it looks pretty slick.

Honestly I am kind of excited about it, not really excited , but excited none the less. I want to see what 343 do with the franchise. So yeah they will really have to do something drastic to pull this off, and you know what I hope they do.

I enjoyed the Halo series, but i'm not a big shooter fan. I'll rent it or buy it second hand eventually. I expect at least another 4 games in the series.
This was my exact response. "Meh."

To be honest i was more excited about the Tomb Raider reboot than Halo 4.

That's not an insult by the way, the new Tomb Raider looks awesome... -_-
Another meh here but for a different reasons...own a PC only...

Basically "whoop-dee-doo, another Halo game". Didn't really care. I wasn't surprised to see it being made, Bungie said they wouldn't do it, but NO WAY Microsoft was going to let that one go gracefully.

We got to blow up the Death Star (Halo 1) set up the end of the trilogy (Halo 2) and blow up the Death Star again (Death Star factory? Halo 3). Now, after the side stories, prequels, expanded universe, anime, and RTS spinoff, they're going for another trilogy?

Lucas.

I'm not at all surprised that they announced Halo 4, we knew that it would happen sooner or later. I was a little taken aback by the "new trilogy" though, makes it sound like they're really trying to milk the franchise for all it's worth. The problem is that 343 has some big shoes to fill and will get burned at the stake by rabid fanboys if they change the formula at all, but they really do need to mix things up as I've had enough of the old Halo formula. I will actually only be interested if they can do something slightly different with the game, as well as keep to the high standard set by Bungie. Otherwise I'll just stick with the existing Halo games and possibly pick up Halo Anniversary if it's not a full price retail game.

What was your reaction to the Halo 4 trailer that was released today in E3?

I can honestly say I squealed a bit x3.

Please no hating =3

1. I sighed in annoyance as it was going downhill by the time 3 came out (I started my hate at 2 when we decided that we needed new armor and Reach was..dull)

I would also like to reward you

-Early Morning Laugh Award- for the hilarious "Please no hating =3"

A friend of mine is a complete Halo nut so if Halo 4,5 and 6 are any good he'll buy them, but personally I am more interested in the Tomb Raider reboot as it for me seems to have potential for greatness and rise the series back to it's former glory

I also think that people here are a bit to quick to dismiss the new Halo games just because it's Halo, and even Yahtzee has said that "it's never to late for a series to stop being shit" using RE4 as example

Oh yeah, if more people want to post saying that this is another quick cash-grab, don't bother with it I mean it is obvious since it's Microsoft we're talking about, still the new games can be good even though it is a cash-grab though there are few examples of games that are like it

Disclaimer: I'm not a rabid Halo-fanboy for the twats who think I am having written this post

Eh.

Not really informative, plus I enjoy each iteration less than the previous one.

After Reach, I can safely say that I'm done with the series. This isn't because Reach was a bad game, it was very acceptable on all levels since Bungie actually did something right with it, but rather because there may not never be another decent Halo in the history of gaming. From here on out, all we may possibly see are Halo 2 and 3 clones running amok since Microsoft is ran by some of the greediest gentlemen in existence.

Honestly, don't praise Microsoft or .343 for keeping Halo alive. The best that they might do is make others hate the series even more from repetitive milking.

To be honest, my reaction was 'meh' as well. While the idea of another Halo seems tempting, what will this Halo have that we haven't already seen? It will have to be a fresh fruit, because the whole covernant thing is getting kind of tedious. They were awesome in the beginning, possibly some of the most interesting and original aliens and enemies in gaming, but now they are becoming rather annoying, I want a more serious threat, something more destructive and with more evil intent, an army of these things occupying a part of space and ready to create chaos.

Gameplay could do with a refresh as well, especially if they are doing another trilogy of this series. Bungie will remain in my heart for making some of the best games I have ever played, what Microsoft has to show without Bungie is another question in itself.

I personally don't think Halo will have the novelty that Bungie made great anymore.

TBH, looking forward more to Halo Anniversary then Halo 4 (although I am still pumped about both of them), but I will probably buy them both though and like them regardless because, as one other person on these forums said, Halo is my Super Mario Bros. Playing Halo 1 Co-Op with my dad is strangely enough one of the fondest memories of my childhood, and was what brought me into gaming.

I don't really care, but I'll wait until I play it at my friend's before I buy it myself (he buys most big new games when they come out regardless).
