...I think I might be ok with Marty not being on this one. Yeah it's different, but that's what I like about Halo. It changes from game to game. It's never the same.

EDIT: Is it just me or does the rest of the escapist not seem to care about Halo 4? Like at all? All the threads about it recently never made it past the first page.
Hey, it beats 12 page long threads about how much Halo sucks and is ruining gaming of reasons. I guess Activision and EA have muscled everyone else out of that particular turf.

But yeah, I guess Halo has been around for long enough now that it's not really as hype-able as it used to be. People who are looking forward to it are just happy to look forward to it quietly, and people who aren't don't care enough to make threads about why they're not looking forward to it.
I guess that makes sense, and it's kind of nice to not see threads of people crapping all over one of my favorite game series.
It has been nice... Or it will be until the release of 4, which we will see:

"Am I the only one who hates Halo?"
"Halo 4 is stupid."
"Why is the Halo series popular?"

Oh great, that thing that I left the Bungie.net forums to get away from. No thanks, I'll pass. I'll take a month long break from the forums if I have to. Also, there's some news about Limited Edition specialist classes. Basically there are 8 specialist classes, only 2 of them available to people who didn't get the Limited Edition. You get to level 50 and then you can start to start to unlock them. They're mostly armor pieces, but at the end you can get a unique ability. The two available to everyone include increased experience and the ability to use Promethean Vision without the drawbacks and to run silently. You can only use one and they'll probably take up a perk slot. I don't think that this is a big deal (frankly it seems like really minor stuff) but people are going to flip, I can tell.
On waypoint there already was a bunch of flipping but I think it died out.

From what I've seen, Waypoint is the new Bungie.net forums in terms of guys being unreasonable about Halo. I'll pass on that. So what do you think about the whole thing?

Well on the topic of waypoint, if you actually go to the universe section the people are generally nice and the debates spark intrigue and make you look at a bit of lore in a new way.

As for the specs? I really don't care, now granted I preordered the limited so I get all of the specs but imo I don't feel like they will break the game at all. Just another thing to further make your Spartan your own.

From what I understand a lot of people are excited about Halo 4, pretty much everyone I know, even the people who don't like Halo. We just aren't screaming about it, but every time a new video, or news post, or anything of the sort comes out we're all over it. Glad to see some people on the Escapist like Halo, I hadn't seen any posts or anything on it. Not surprising because, as it's been said before this site is made up of mostly pc gamers.

I might check that out.

Yeah, same here, both with the opinion and the pre-ordering the Limited Edition.

Just a heads up, I posted another news in the group. Achivements! And it confirms that there is Grav Hammers and Hunters in the game, so possibly Brutes?

We will probably find out in Thursday War whether or not he is in. While they haven't said or hinted at it, I think he is probably dead between Halo 3 and 4. D: Just a guess, but even if he is alive, I would assume he is probably too busy on Sangheilios to fight.

Also one thing... Based on Dialogue seen in the Halo Prelude trailer, Halsey in some shape and form is in Halo 4. But aside from that we know nothing.

He was in the book, but only briefly. I will say she isn't a bad writer, the best? No, not even close, and could she have done better with Halsey? Well yeah, anyone could have easily. (Well not anyone) But I liked Glasslands, and I hope the Halsey bashing stops in Thursday War, but overall she isn't a bad writer, just... Doesn't do her research which is still quite bad.

I do think the Halsey thing was exaggerated though, and honestly I felt it was a little more realistic. Up to this point we only heard good things about her like if she was incapable of doing wrong, it was a nice change of pace for her to at least feel guilt about her actions. Now how Mendez acted was a bit OOC, but not to far.

As for the actual bashing... Honestly didn't happen that often, and the characters in Kilo-Five (the group, not the book) only hated her because Paragonosky gave them select information on her and saw it through a very one sided view.

Just my thoughts.

The new soundtrack sounds sexy as sexington, I'm sure the whole thing will make a fantastic addition to the rest of it. Love it!

Just wondering, as someone who has all the Halos next to my 360, and is playing though before Halo 4, right alongside my PC which has Half Life 2 and all it's episodes and whatnot waiting for some hint and glimmer of HL3, when did I have to decide between one? They're both great games, and if it's ok I'm going to continue liking both til and beyond Halo 4 and Half Life 3

So yeah, Awakening is probably one of my favorite tracks, both in the original and remixed formats. It's got a heavy, melacholic pulse that I just love.

As a huge fan of all the Halo soundtracks(except for certain saxaphone tracks in ODST, I HATE the Saxaphone, most annoying instrument ever)I don't really like this music, and I don't know why.

I think we're the only ones here that are interested in Halo. =/

Is it just me or does the rest of the escapist not seem to care about Halo 4? Like at all? All the threads about it recently never made it past the first page.

Escapist I feel has a thing against Halo. D: Honestly it really hasn't done anything wrong. The worst it did probably was the whole over priced ODST thing. But there might be other reasons.
You can count me in this group of fans.

Ah, familiarity but also something different. Even if you dislike the games, you CANNOT hate the music.

On a side note, does anyone feel Ascendency is taking cues from this?

I have this itch that tells me Ascendency got inspiration from it based on its beat.

...I think I might be ok with Marty not being on this one. Yeah it's different, but that's what I like about Halo. It changes from game to game. It's never the same.

EDIT: Is it just me or does the rest of the escapist not seem to care about Halo 4? Like at all? All the threads about it recently never made it past the first page.
I agree with the lack of Halo fans as I have made quite a few threads that have news about Halo yet they seem to disappear the next time a log on and even then a lot of the posts are bashing Halo.

Talking about the music though I hope that when it starts it suits the current level of the game rather than feeling out of place but I dont think that I have to worry about that.
In the E3 trailer all of the songs seem to fit perfectly, so I don't think we need to worry. :D

I think my favourite has to be revival
It menacing and scary not like Marty's previous compositions which were more uplifting and heroic.
Plus if what I read on the internet is true, then the chant actually means something to those who have read cryptum.
Im also loving Ascendancy .A nice mix of electronic and orchestra (reminds me of invader zim.)

Honestly It used to bother me before but now I just ignore it and just have fun on the game

Well in the book Cryptum, the only way they were able to open the Crpytum was with a song. It never said the lyrics I believe. So maybe the song is the song to open the Cryptum?
