Halo Books...

Okay, here's the deal. I have played and completed all Halo games (except CE, I know, WTF right, but I'll have by Christmas.) So, what order should I read the Halo novels in? Not that into books, but I really wanna read them, and in the right order. Thanks in advance.

There is a book called 'Halo: Evolutions' which is like all of them combined.

The Fall of Reach is the best one, and should be read first.
The Flood is next in chronological order, but sucks, don't bother.
First Strike is pretty much a direct prequel to The Fall of Reach, and details how Master Chief got back to Earth. It's good, read it.
Ghosts of Onyx, Contact Harvest, and The Cole Protocol can be read in any order.

I forgot it because I didn't finish, It was really boring.

thats the order on a timeline but contact harvest was made as a prequil so read it whenever

Fall of Reach is pretty good, I've read that.

And the comics are really good. Read those if you get a chance.

Start with Fall of Reach, it's a good book on its own, amazing if you're a halo fan.
If you want chronological order, go with Contact:Harvest. Follows Sgt. Johnson mostly, and lets you know how it all started (Also aroused jackals ._.).
First Strike is also pretty good, you get first contact the Chief has with the Brutes.
Ghosts of Onyx will clear up a few things about what happened to Dr.Halsey after Reach.
I haven't read the Cole Protocol yet, so I can't comment on it, but The Flood isn't amazing. It's basically Halo 1 in book form with a few other characters (tyhough there's a nice reference to FoR, but that's hardly redeeming), and the flood levels do NOT make for a good read in my opinion.

The Cole Protocol (I'm not sure if this or Contact Harvest goes first, this is an educate guess because I haven't read the ladder and am early in to the former)
The Fall of Reach
The Flood
First Strike
Ghosts of Onyx

But the order I read them in, which was a good order, is:

The Cole Protocol

I read Fall,First Strike, Harvest, Flood, ghosts.
Spartans never die, they'll just missing...

Evolutions is a short story compilation, and I personally enjoyed it.

I read the books in release order, so FoR, Flood, First Strike, Ghosts, Harvest, Protocol.
I liked all of them, but Fall of Reach and Ghosts of Onyx are the best. I'd also recommend Evolutions. If you liked the Arbiter from 2 and 3, than the Cole Protocol gives some more background on him. First Strike connects CE and 2.

It's the only direct novelization of one of the games. The entire book is a poorly written action sequence. You'll only miss out on the pain of reading a horrible novel.

Fall of Reach is a great read IMO but the next two were lacking. I haven't read any of the other three.
