I was bumming around target the other day and I noticed Halo Lego sets. I do not have a ton to say on the matter beyond the fact that it seems strange we would promote an M rated game to kids. Especially with the shit storm that seems to be following this subject.

So I guess this is a two part question. First being is this right to promote more minors to play M rated games and second what game would make an epic Lego set? I was personally thinking Homeworld because god damn I would love to have the Mothership proudly sitting in my living room.

P.S. Has anyone else noticed these?

Edit: Let me correct myself! They aren't Legos they are Mega Bloks (which I find even more confusing because I thought they were for even younger kids). They are also not for Halo the game but for Halo Wars so I am assuming they were able to squeak by because the T rating instead of the M rating.

1) I think promoting Halo is fine, because the games really shouldn't be rated M anyway. In principle, I don't think it matters, because they are going to play the games whether there is Lego if it or not. Lego doesn't really seem to be all that popular right now anyway.

2) I think a Pokemon Lego set would be awesome.

P.S.: No, I haven't noticed these.

Well I actually own a set of them because my girlfriend got them at Target for me for Christmas. They're actually pretty neat.

I'd love a Left 4 Dead set to build my own cities and "maps" just to play with a Bill and tank lego figure.

The last thing we need is more little kids on XBL, much less my little corner.
Kill it dead!

Best lego set I can think of, though, would be-

I agree on the games not really being rated M but the books can be (though books kinda dont have ratings, though I have seen some on books) in one of the books a character literaly gets incenerated and their is nothing left. 0.0

OT: Halo lego set must be pretty cool, pokemon lego set would also be cool, alot of video game lego sets need to be made now!

Now incinerations are not as bad as being mauled in half by a Brute. I read Halo Reach quite a while ago and I remember in the first few chapters they explained in detail exactly what one of their plasmas weapons did. It was very graphic and the poor guy bled out opening the cryo pod someone in power armor was sleeping in.

If they could make a massive lego Halo (as in the ring), that would be impressive.

But no, its not a game really suitable for kids younger than about 12.

My 8 year old step brother was playing "halo wars" the other day, it seemed quite suitable for him and he was enjoying himself a great deal.

I think it's a nice idea, there must be a ton of halo kiddies out there. But why mega blocks? This seems like something apt for lego.

I should get one of these for my phyiscs teacher! If they sell them in Britain, that is...

However, they are Mega Bloks, which are lame.

i own at least one of each Halo Wars Mega Bloks set currently out (except for the Hawk/Banshee set) and personally i am very pleased with them. they have a level of detail that Lego has difficulty with usually, as well as customized parts that Lego also is limited in creating, although the last couple years they've stepped up on that one. being Mega Bloks the overall quality of the bricks is inferior to Lego, and for the sake of accurate design some of the models can be a bit fragile (the Hornet stands out in particular).

but the one reason i am glad that Lego did not get Halo would be the minifigs. everyone knows the generic appearance of Lego minifigs, they're classic and fun but rather simplistic. the Mega Bloks Spartans have great articulation, splendid detail and their armor isn't just painted on like Lego would be.

i'd add a pic of my Red and Blue Spartans wielding Brickarms AK-47s but i'm still unfamiliar on how to do that here.

I don't know if we can really argue that its not suitable for children given that Halo, unlike a lot of other M rated titles in existance right now, isn't really that gory. It's much less than say Gears of War. Marketing these sorts of things aren't really a problem because there have been plenty of other guns and aliens in toys even before video games so I see no reason why it should be problematic.

Still the little fanboy in me is crying out 'HOLY SHIT AWESOME' at the thought of this.

TimeLord: The lovechild of Dr Who and MacGyver.

I personally think that a Lord Of The Rings set would be awesome. Lego Helms Deep!

Here's an interesting fact: This is all sort of disrespectful; Ole Kirk Christiansen (the founder of lego) was a pacifist, so there was no green or brown (camoflage colours) bricks originally. Methinks he would not be fond of this.

i wouldn't think it matters anymore since they've had Pirates, Castle, Space and tons of other sets with a military or otherwise violent theme, heck they even have a Toy Story Army Men set now (got one, its pretty sweet).

OT: the only reason i would agree with Halo retaining its M-rating were if it was an effective enough deterrent in keeping all those annoying brats off of the multiplayer.
