If they did it right it would be awsome, look at what they did just to promote Halo 3.
It depends if they made it live action or CG. CG might work - but live action possibly wouldn't - especially when you see a Warthog in real life:

The correct term for its current state of development is "movie hell."

This is far from dead, and great movies have come from movie hell, like Spider-Man (it was in movie hell for 25 years).

EDIT:

You're right, the wheels are 3 centimeters too small!

The rule for books is; it's easier to make a good movie out of an average book then it is to make a good movie out of a good book.

Most of the time expectations would be far too high for the movie to be considered good. I see this as the case for Halo. It would be over hyped.

There was trailer for it a few years back I'm fairly certain its dead
I thought that was a spoof.

It was really cool looking though.

*EDIT*

OP, their goal has been achieved. We can read your sentences now, and that's the greatest gift of all.

Welcome to the Escapist. Now that you use (reasonably) proper grammar, it's safer here.
There have been two(?) trailers for it both looked amazing actually.

May I ask everyone except the original poster something? How many people have hit the report button on this guy?

Any Halo driven media will suck outside of Video Games or some gaming genre. I'm sure it will be released eventually. Right around the tim eall u fanboys stop cosplaying and the rest of us have moved on. Then, little or no impact.

I had to look it up. Never heard of Fall of Reach before. A book or Graphic Novel released with a Game as a peripheral is not a stand alone peice. Microsoft over saw the novel so that it did not break Halo canon.
Therefore, this tight knit control will suck the life out of any producer or director with any artistic vision or expression.
I'm not a Halo fan. I missed that train, and I dont see why people are so ravenous about it.

PS
The book only sold 100,000 copies. Compared to the millions of HALO Fanbois, that number is rather insignifigant. OR, it just proves some points in my mind about the lower 10%.

I myself think it may be at a stand still right now, but IMO If resident Evil has made it this far in the movie industry, I know for a fact that Halo can and would do alot better!! What do you all think, should they make it or not?
it would only be so high on the charts in money...not so much on ratings.
only fan boys want a halo movie and only fan boys will see it.
i say they shouldnt make a halo movie.
it should die and stay dead by being decapitated and its head being buried 1000 miles away from the body.

I reckon we can't use Portal's song to define the state of the Halo movie. Aside of the fact that it is most probably sleeping with the fishes, in the case it weren't, it'd get shot down, then raped up the ear canals and the eyes by the fans. Remember what Yahtzee once said? yeah, exactly.

Ultimately, I reckon the Halo movie is face down in a pool of its own blood. It would probably cost extortionate amounts to produce and generally speaking, game-based films suck a little. The problem as stated earlier by numerous people would be the hype. Hype seems to ruin a film as you expect so much of it. The games would act as the biggest way to generate hype imaginable. The merchandising would probably devalue the film too.

Get Vin Disel, dress him in green armour and have him shoot purple aliens, it does sound like a movie that would make a lot of easy money pulling in the action fans and the Halo fans. Can't see why someone hasn't milked this cow yet myself

Who cares about proper Grammar? Ask that question to one of many employers, I gurantee you will get the same answer: I do.
"gah not about arigent people that have to point people out" Alright, no idea what that means. But I think you need to stop fanning the flames.
