OLD!! and no it's not even close to be related to the halo movie, if that has not been scrapped yet. Those scenes where just bungies advertising propaganda for H3.

I hope this movie gets scrapped. I think it's safe to say that if it ever does reach theaters, everyone will be disappointed at the movie's mediocrity (as Halo 2 and 3 have foreshadowed).

Not to burst your bubble or anything, but last time I checked the feet of the Halo movie were firmly planted in Development Hell along with movie plans for Metroid and Fatal Frame along with many others. Chances are it isn't going to happen. Don't give up hope, though. Watchmen is finally being made after being stuck there since 1985, so your Halo movie at least has a chance. Not much of a chance, but a chance still.

The Halo movie is stuck in development hell, Peter Jackson was supposed to be working on it but now is apparently working on another Halo project known only as Halo: Chronicles. He reportedly asked Benecio Del Toro to help as producer but del Toro refused as he was working on Hellboy 2 at the time. Different producers of the game series and Bungie staff have given differing accounts, some saying it will go ahead while others say it won't. Stuart Beattie wrote a screenplay of the first prequel novel (first published though not first chronologically), called Halo: The Fall of Reach, which leads up to the start of the first game and explains about the other Spartan II's, while concept art was produced for the film. At the moment the film version is uncertain with regards to it's future, but hopefully it will be made at some point (preferably starting with Contact Harvest which is the first chronological prequel novel, but doesn't contain the Master Chief, who frankly isn't as important in the series as fans make him out to be). There, that is everything, and yes I am a Halo fanboy and proud to admit it, but I welcome other people's opinions even those who hate Halo and want to see it crushed under the boot of the Almighty Gaming God. (takes deep breath)

By the way, sorry about the rant, just wanted you all to know that those are the only official (and therefore confirmably true) facts about the current state of the Halo movie.

I think that the credits were faked, for these reasons:
-The part with the Brutes and Marines was made as a short film when the full project was cancelled.
-The credits say that the Arbiter is in it, but the info says that it is based on Halo: Combat Evolved.

I think it would have been great, but they cancelled it when the budget got out of hand. The warthog cost over $100 000 alone.

Quick update: after watching the video your linked us I can say with confidence that is isn't real. The opening credits and the costumes in the first bit give it away.

Quoted for truth.

By the way, bit of a fanboy myself, though I wouldn't go so far as to say it's "AMAZING" or anything. Read the books, loved 'em. Played the games, loved 1, liked 2, haven't played 3 enough to judge. But as for a movie, it probably isn't going to happen, which is pretty damn shocking. Halo is an overhyped and overloved money vacuum! (And remember, this is a big fan of the series talking here.) Why wouldn't they take advantage of that?

I agree Halo is way overhyped, but it has done I think games in general a very good facelift, making them slightly more mainstream and making the marketing battle even more important.

The "I believe in Master Cheif" campaign for Halo 3 was succesful, and btw if anyone doesn't catch the dark Knight reference than....you suck.

The only bad thing halo has truly done it put a 1,345,000 whiny 9 yr olds on Xbox Live, it wasn't truly habitable before, and its still a wasteland now. Halo has just shown that games need to have decent graphics, good gameplay, and a cliche story is the only thing that kinda sux bout halo.

I actually want Uwe Boll to make it, just because I have a morbid curiousity about just how hard the fanboys will defend it afterwards.

You should have seen the Bloodrayne boards. Boy oh boy it got messy fast.

Vid is waaaay not part of the movie. The FX would be way better, and just watch the crappy way the credits move. And the font.

I don't know what's more pathetic... That retarded video clip, the idiot who is trying to pass it off as legit on youtube, anyone pathetic enough to believe it, or that OP had to post the thread title in all caps.
Personally, I choose not to decide. They're all pretty rough.
