Okay, I'm on a limited budget and am facing that daunting decision of which game to invest in!

These two are both titans in the available titles this year and obviously ODST has the advantage of already being out but I'd appreciate some input on which one people rate more at the moment (with obvious speculation for COD6).

Any views are welcome :O) Personally I've loved all Halo and COD games but the game play on COD looks to be the more fluent... hmm!

Hrm...
That's a toughie; usually people like one over the other, and any reccomendations we give will likely end up a shouting match between the fans, sadly.
But if you're on a tight budget, tell us what games you have, and maybe we can find you a cheap gem or two you don't have! :)

MW2 looks to me, like, well, MW with a few new perks that appear to be uninteresting.
I got ODST, and, with the Halo 3 multiplayer, it allows much variety in terms of online games ,the single player is a fun, new, stealthy experience, and, firefight is fantastic. I've played matches of firefight that have lasted 4 hours, and all of that was fun.
Keep in mind that I'm an underlying Halo fanboy and all of this is my opinion.

This is also a very good idea.

If you buy Modern warfare 2, you give a few more dollars to Activision. If you give more money to Activision, another baby seal will be fed to Bobby Kottick. It will make him even more evil.

Don't support the death of a baby seal...

EDIT: Or you could just flip a coin...

I'm with this dude. ODST and MWF2 both look kinda eh to me. I'll probably get them in January when they're cheap.

I've bought ODST and am enjoying it throughly, but I'd pick the safer option of MW2. Either one are great purchases (I can personally vouch for FireFight), but I'd imagine that MW2 is going to be the bigger release.

I wonder why people always go to the internet for advice on what they should buy, when their facing two products. Seriously I could tell you but then you would probably take my advice and in your own opinion you might not like it.

So do as you will, choose one and buy it. Heck if you want the second one then save up/earn more money and buy it later its not like its going to drop of the face of the earth.

ODST has a six hour campaign and no matchmaking, you are definitely getting more bang for your buck choosing MW and I think it will be better anayways.

I'm going to say MW2. I got Halo ODST on release day, and I have to say, <a href=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-aUyF_2SZtM>this basically sums up my thoughts.

A vs thread about Halo. Well done OP, you've just broken the two most basic conventions about posting on this site. Congratulations.

Welcome to the Escapist, by the way. I was just kidding before.

Anyway, I would get both. I've never played any COD games so far (HEATHEN!!!!!) but would love to get them, especially COD4 onwards. I have played all the Halo games so far and also love them, and I was really looking forward to ODST (though I can't afford it right now). Hence I say, get both. Problem solved. Otherwise, since you're on a limited budget, get ODST now then save up or find some way of making money in a short space of time (cough*pimping*cough) that will give you enough money to get COD6 when it's released. Then get that. Two great games, problem solved. Or to put it another way:

1. Buy Halo 3: ODST
2. Become a pimp
3. Earn enough for COD 6
4. ?????
5. PROFIT!

Any and all complaints should be directed to the trash heap outside my house, or to the junk box of my email account. After three weeks of ignoring them I may get back in touch, or possibly send flying monkeys to your house to scream and fling poo at you until your death by suffocation under copious amounts of monkey poo. You have been warned.[/small]

First of all DON'T call it CoD 6... EVER! Please just call it MW2... Its okay to add CoD in front, just as long as you don't add a '6'...

OT: I only have a PC... And don't make VS threads...

Get neither. Get Left 4 Dead 2. /valvefanboy

I didn't really care for either of the previous games. I would say Modern Warfare 2 because it looked alright, but Activision's CEO is a huge greedy dirtbag so get ODST. Never was a fan of Halo but lots of people are playing ODST so I'm guessing the online would be pretty good.
