So the Halo panel at Comic-Con just got over, and the Bungie team dropped a lot of information, especially about the new Forge mode. There's now a ton of customization options for maps and gametypes. I'll give a quick run-down of some of the newly-revealed features.
Forge
-The forklift is confirmed as a drivable vehicle. It has no weapons and doesn't go fast enough to do any damage, but it beeps when backing up and is "comedy gold".
-A MASSIVE map called Forge World contains 5 playing spaces, including the remake of Blood Gulch and "The Cage", a map inspired by Lockout and Guardian.
-The controls for forge are much easier to use and more advanced. There are options to make an object sink into surrounding objects, a 30-degree snap feature, and an undo button.
-The radius for the effective range of a teleporter can be increased and decreased, and there are toggles for allowing through people and vehicles.
-Option to fix object in place, even in the air.
-Option to delete all objects on the map of one type.
-Hugely customizable objectives, including making a vehicle the hill in a KotH match.
NEW-Complete color customization for spawn points, scenery, and even vehicles! [http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/action/haloreach/video/6270415]
Firefight (Halo's Horde Mode)
-Customization is "insane". Get down to every single wave, round, and set. Customize enemies, their method of spawn, and other attributes.
-Matchmaking for Firefight.
-You can PLAY AS THE COVENANT against other players (spartans).
Other
-The campaign is similar in length to Halo 3.
-There is no map forging in Firefight.
-Space enough to save up to 1000 variants of maps & gametypes.
So Escapist, thoughts?
