So the Halo panel at Comic-Con just got over, and the Bungie team dropped a lot of information, especially about the new Forge mode. There's now a ton of customization options for maps and gametypes. I'll give a quick run-down of some of the newly-revealed features.

Forge
-The forklift is confirmed as a drivable vehicle. It has no weapons and doesn't go fast enough to do any damage, but it beeps when backing up and is "comedy gold".
-A MASSIVE map called Forge World contains 5 playing spaces, including the remake of Blood Gulch and "The Cage", a map inspired by Lockout and Guardian.
-The controls for forge are much easier to use and more advanced. There are options to make an object sink into surrounding objects, a 30-degree snap feature, and an undo button.
-The radius for the effective range of a teleporter can be increased and decreased, and there are toggles for allowing through people and vehicles.
-Option to fix object in place, even in the air.
-Option to delete all objects on the map of one type.
-Hugely customizable objectives, including making a vehicle the hill in a KotH match.
NEW-Complete color customization for spawn points, scenery, and even vehicles! [http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/action/haloreach/video/6270415]

Firefight (Halo's Horde Mode)
-Customization is "insane". Get down to every single wave, round, and set. Customize enemies, their method of spawn, and other attributes.
-Matchmaking for Firefight.
-You can PLAY AS THE COVENANT against other players (spartans).

Other
-The campaign is similar in length to Halo 3.
-There is no map forging in Firefight.
-Space enough to save up to 1000 variants of maps & gametypes.

So Escapist, thoughts?

Awesome. I have a friend who loves forge, so I think he's going to enjoy this.

Forge was proly the thing i got the most entertainment out of in halo 3, and to know they are totally revamping it for reach... I am reconsidering my stance on getting it.

All of this sounds great.

It sounds great, whether or not it'll be good is another thing entirely. It does seem that Bungie is pretty much adding all they can though.

I saw in the Forge vidoc that he like flipped his orentation. Like walking on the ceiling that was just the floor... This is going to be so bad-ass.

*edited since I neglected to realize the OP had the link already*

That looks amazing! I am a forger but had some complaints, so when I saw forge world I knew Bungie loves us forgers. Hell, just look how far they've taken the forge style into a new more controlled, and balanced way. Lets just hope they put more walls in the inventory, I keep running out when I build my maps. :p

Well, I'm sure you know my opinion OP...

I'm looking forward to this game quite a lot. Its like everything good about Halo, and multiplied by 12. The beta was amazing fun. And now it looks like I'll be able to forge without swearing at a piece of stone for being shot into the skybox when I had the gall to place it next to an object.

I have never done this before, but I am going to buy the legendary edition of this game. This will probably be my most played game for a few years. Long live Bungie in their mighty conquest to rule the world.

That just looks... amazing. I only used the word 'amazing' because I can't think of any other word that would be appropriate. There isn't a word for how filled with awe and excitement I am for this new forge feature.
Plus, I'm loving the idea of getting to play as the Elites in Firefight. That would be pretty cool, it's still annoying that I can only play as an Elite in a few gametypes but still it's more than made up for with all the awesome stuff I'm going to get to do with this game, huge maps and near infinite manipulation of those maps... it's awesome.

I already have the Legendary edition of this game preordered and it's seriously looking like a sound investment.

That said I am a little dissapointed that the campaign will be quite short again.

EDIT: I just saw the screenshots of customised player elites battling Spartans in Firefight. I think I just had an orgasm.

I am pleased with the news. Still don't know if I'm going to pick it up, since I'm definitely getting tired of gaming, but I'll certainly enjoy playing it at a mate's place.

I think I just came. Seriously, at this very moment I am a damn proud Halo fanboy. I want this game! For the first time, I am really thinking about getting the Legendary Edition.

Wow. I might actually get back into Halo for this game. I love Forge, but it has a lot of problems, most of which seem to be solved here.
