Looks very nice. I have high hopes for this one, and I hear it's Flood-free. Is this true? If so, that fact alone makes it the best game in the series.
Yeah actually I have to agree with this, the thought had slipped my mind but it's true in retrospect. This is a Halo game that feels drastically different to any other largely because of the lack of bright colours and general lightheartedness and while I'm open to a few changes I really hope it retains some of the old charm.fix-the-spade said:But it doesn't look that Halo-ish to me, the weapon and armour designs are getting almost towards a Gears/Army of Two aesthetic, all dull greys and improbably large proportions. The amount and application of bloom is quite Gears-y as well, I want my bright sunshine and day-glo purple back!
Pretty much what I thought when I first saw that guy, it doesn't even make sense from the stories point of view, Spartans don't have arrogance/cockiness, they are like brainwashed drones, they exist to fight, not show off.Hubilub said:I don't know what to say other than it looks like Halo.
Because it looks like Halo. A lot.
Except the guy in the very first image, who the developers thought would look cool if they painted a skull on him.
Look, Ghost might have been able to pull it off, but drawing on your helmet?
Exactly the same as me, I foolishly allowed hype to get the better of me in both cases and as such cannot feel any excitement towards Reach.Eagle Est1986 said:It's looking like the game I wanted Halo 3 to be, darker, atmospheric, a bit grittier. Still, I'll not get my hopes up, Halo 3 and ODST have both jaded me to the series a little.
Indeed, we know they lose and how. So I don't think those looking for a story will be appeased.Deathman101 said:I'm still wondering how they can make a game out of Reach, a major loss for humanity because they were fucking flattened.
And from the book's lore, only the Pillar of Autumn made it out.
Indeed.Machines said:You'd think they'd used the drop-ship design from Halo/Halo Wars considering this is a prequel.

Well it really, really does. This comes from a person who hasn't played any of the Halo games though.easy evil said:I find if funny when people say it looks just like Halo1/2/3.
Well... The graphics have at least improved since Halo 1?Woem said:Well it really, really does. This comes from a person who hasn't played any of the Halo games though.easy evil said:I find if funny when people say it looks just like Halo1/2/3.
But seriously, it does.
i want the old needler back, the one that looked like an alien sub machine gun and not a pistol XD and the old assault rifle =\ but meh ill cope =PJubbsy said:If they're trying to be period action, then maybe they'll bring back the original handgun. Unlikely, I know, but it would be fun.arc1991 said:apart from army of 2 had 2 characters while this has about 6? seriously...nothing like army of 2.Leon said:I see Army of Two meet Halo. The big guy with the minigun and the skull mask I guess this is all I'm basing this on. Oh and chest high walls.
and i take it games cant have mini guns (which i must say have been used in many other games) or chest high walls which make for perfect covering without the game been criticised for copying what about half the games of last year done.
OT: Any ways as a halo fan (which i will proudly say) this game does look different, new enemies, graphics, new engine, and by the looks of it special take downs. what ive wanted since halo 2 has finally come true =D
we all know that this game will be one of the biggest games this year with the amount of halo fans their is in the world, but like any other game release im staying sceptical, for one i don't like how they are using phantoms, if it is a prequel shouldn't the be using spirits? (the drop ship from halo 1)...hehe sorry went into geek mode XD
I second this, and point to the skull masks in Army of TWO (1 and 2)... oh, and the Skull Kid and ditto Mask in ZeldaHubilub said:I don't know what to say other than it looks like Halo.

Hey, interstellar travel must get pretty boring at times...tellmeimaninja said:Do you think you could have found it's screenshots on the interwebnets, though?Boneasse said:Don't get Game Informer in Denmarktellmeimaninja said:You could have gotten all of these without the "EBGAMES" in the corner out of the last Game Informer. Just sayin'.
But here's hoping this game will be awesome. The campaign looks fun, and if Halo 3 was any indication, the custom games in this should be very, very entertaining.![]()
Ah, I'm still not used to human tech.
Am I the only one who thinks the jackal-things in the fifth screenshot look like all of the species in the Covenant cross-bred?
I could kinda understand drawing skulls on those.Kenjitsuka said:I second this, and point to the skull masks in Army of TWO (1 and 2)... oh, and the Skull Kid and ditto Mask in ZeldaHubilub said:I don't know what to say other than it looks like Halo.

Perhaps when enemies see it they take a second or two to go "did he paint on his freaking helmet?".Hubilub said:Indeed.Machines said:You'd think they'd used the drop-ship design from Halo/Halo Wars considering this is a prequel.

Also, he painted on his helmet.
I just can't see the tactical advantage of that!
[HEADING=1]That's ingenious![/HEADING]Irridium said:Looks like fun.
I'm probably one of the only people who loved all of the Halo games (except Halo Wars) without becoming a fanboy.
So I'm interested in this

And in these 2 seconds, a rocket nails them.
