Sorry I had to. Reach will be awesome, but I'm going to wait till it comes out in two days to get a read on just how good it is.

I had the best feeling for Reach after the prior three, and it sounds like they've learned some of the lessons from the past games. It's quite discouraging though that the ally AI performance is still somehow tantamount to a spork taking the SAT because Halo 3 in particular had AWFUL driving AI. I don't have XBL, so the better the allies, the better experience.

If they have it on Tuesday, I'll have to rent it at the local Blockbuster.

I really like Halo, but I immediately stopped taking the 1st review seriously when they said Halo was innovative.

Ive never found Halo to be particularly good or bad, but Ive always found its multiplayer for the most part as damn fun.
But isnt that what games should be?

Also, reviews of a game from a popular dev are meaningless, even Modern Warfare got good ones, just so the reviewers wouldnt get flamed.

I will always be just as skeptical about Halo games as I will be about Call of Duty games.

They always get awesome reviews, my friends tell me how awesome they are then...I play it an I'm super underwhelmed.

Happened with Halo 3, ODST and (going on a limb here) Modern Warfare (just to explain why I mentioned COD earlier in my post).

But I've got a friend who's planning to get it, so I'll play it at his house, then make my decision.

the reviews made my stomach hurt becuase I know that despite how good it sounds, and is, I don't own a 360 and most likely never will so I will never ever be able to have the full experince...

Even if Halo never existed another game would have a similar, maybe even identical layout.
How else would you play a console shooter?

Halo was just the first to do it.
