Looks solid, pre-ordered, picking it up first day. I mean if you like Halo, then why aren't you going to pick it up?

I've always enjoyed Halo regardless of people hating it for what it apparently started. Seeing as how they just added a lot of things to Reach I'll assume that it will be just as enjoyable.
Yup pretty much this.

I know im getting it, but my only real plans for the next week is to get of school for the day so i can pick it up and just hopefully have a mindgasm on it, of course if it turns out to bad well i'll just lull myself into a fan boy delusion that it doesn't suck. although i liked halo wars and heard people tell me it's six different shades of awful.

Question! Are they even Marines? Yeah they're in Space...but wouldn't the term Space Navy Fighters apply more?
Play the game and listen to the human npcs scream "Marines!" all the time. No joke, every single npc with a voice screams at one point the word marine in a random sentence.
The soldiers are marines, the ODST are SEALs of the future, and spartans are part of the Navy.
Actually ODSTs would equate more to Marine Force Recon, a special ops branch within the USMC akin to the Army Rangers. The Spartans are more like the SEALS.

Another space marine romp? Count me out.
OK, be honest. When was the last time you actually played an FPS that involved space marines? Seriously. Think about it.
Doom 3 and expansion? Still, perhaps there isn't much FPS that involves space marines, but if you leave out that specific to qualify the subgenre of shooters, the number rapidly increases. If you don't define a genre at all, the number increases even more drastically... I can understand why people are tired of space marine games at times ;).

That said, I'm not quite sure what to think of this game yet. No Halo games have really caught my attention so far, I found them rather bland, but what I've seen so far seems at least moderately interesting.
Doom 3 you mean the game with te mentaly retarded man as the player? you know the guy who couldnt grab some fucking duct tape or hell just scotch tape and tape his dam flashlight to his weapon? Yeah doom 3 is an embarisment they fucked up everything in that game i wish they would of just made doom 2 again with better graphics:(
OT: Reach looks to be ODST and star war republic comandos all mixed into one im excited:)

It looks like it'll be fun. The multiplayer should be good and the story will definitely be interesting to play through.

And as an added bonus, once it's out my friends will SHUT THE HELL UP whining about the damn thing.

I hated Halo 3's campaign but loved its multiplayer.

I enjoyed ODST's story despite a lot of hatred for it by other gamers (preferred it to Halo 3 in every way) but Firefight needed matchmaking. The fact that it came with a separate disk with Halo 3's multiplayer made it a must buy.

Halo Reach. Wow. Just wow. Campaign looks solid and fun, and if the beta is anything to go by, the multiplayer will be stellar.

I might get it eventually, mostly to play with friends (I found that 90% the enjoyment I have gained in the halo series was from playing it with friends), but don't expect to see me queuing up to buy it.
