Coming from someone who originally migrated here from Bungie.Net, the forums have always been like that. When Halo 3 came out, people were whining how Halo 2 was a trillion times better. When ODST came out, people complained how Halo 3's campaign was soooo much better. Now Reach is out and people are complaining again. In short, the Bungie.Net community is perhaps impossible to please. They are the only group of gamers I know who will whine all day about a certain aspect of the game and then when Bungie goes and makes a solution, they'll begin to complain about the solution.

Keep in mind that their logic cannot be understood and they cannot be reasoned with.

Personally, I love Halo Reach, I think that it is one of the best Halo games to date and is worthy of being Bungie's swan song. So how come ever time I go to the Reach Forums on Bungie.Net I get a bunch of people whining about how it's the worst Halo game ever and that Halo 3 was 1000 times better? Seriously I could not be more lost here, please point me in the right direction.
I agree with them. Reticle bloom sucks, and there was no reasoning behind it. The DMR is just... urg, no. I hate it. Way less weapons. Shittier environments/maps. That's all. But I respect your opinion, I'm just trying to show my reasoning.
I disagree with most of what you said except that I liked the battle rifle a lot more than the DMR. But you are nice. And that is nice : )

For me halo reach was awsome as a whole. the updated firefight was an improvement; forge was great but personally it seemed like it drained my creativity; multiplayer seemed ok except for there only being (i think) 7 original maps; the campaign was ok at times, except for the fact that we all expected more from other spartans, and they let us fly a pelican/phantom, and i liked halo 3's better; i miss the smg, brute shot, brute rifle, carbine, br, beam rifle, brute choppers, dual wielding, etc; i like swapping equipment for abilities, night vision; and some other various things.

People who dislike Halo have different preferences, people who hate Halo ( i find) have trouble backing up their claims with valid arguments and logic.
Ain't that the truth. If I had a nickel for every time someone said that they hate Halo because "it's just another one of those brown FPSs."

Seriously? Halo is one of the most colorful games I've ever played. The environments are absolutely gorgeous, and the levels, enemies, vehicles, everything is vibrant.
Oh totally agree, its like a friggin oil painting. even the most 'brown' maps have a sense of organic color. its a sight for sore eyes in this day and age of the ACTUAL brown fps.

Ok I like Halo Reach, but compared to the first two it's a complete shadow of its former self.

Halo used to be focused on single player and it did well with that. The campaign had a great atmosphere and a great storyline. Every since Halo 3 though, the campaign has been short, uninspiring and dull. So I look at the multiplayer and its all about big, massive armour, big explosions, etc, to satisfy casual gamers who have no interest in depth or originality. It lost its grit and with that lost its soul.
Reach is the best game since Halo 3 but that's not saying much.

As stagnant and derivative as Halo was, Halo Reach was actually the one game in the franchise that I could genuinely appreciate (from a gameplay perspective; the campaign was still generic and boring) since it actually expanded upon its core mechanics for the first time in nearly a decade.

And that (among other reasons) is why it is my favorite.

I still frequent there for the community forums since the ones still hanging around there after Halo is done are ones who are the biggest Bungie fans and have made a nice little corner of the internet to call home. The people left in the community forum are the ones who enjoy the culture around Bungie and legitimately enjoy the community not just the games.

Reach was good for me, but not great. Multiplayer had some good and bad new things implemented, campaign was great as usual from Bungie but after reading the Fall of Reach... I wanted that version... Everything else was unparalleled compared to the rest of the series though with Firefight and Forge.
