This is my first RPG so take it easy on me.

Setting: The year is 2558, offically the Human-Covenant war ended five years ago, but conflict still rages on in the galaxy. The Covenant Loyalists still hold many planets and posses a massive military force. However the UNSC, whose technology has been augmented, and the Covenent Seperatists have the upper hand and are slowly but surely pushing the Loyalists back. Recently, a group of Jiralhanae, Kig-Yar and Yamne'e known as the Renegades have risen, numbering in the millions. Seeing that their races will face exiction unless the way is ended at once, the Renegades have defected and allied themselves against the Loyalists, hoping to topple their leaders and pacify the rest of them. Recently, a UNSC listening outpost has intercepted a Loyalist message. They have uncovered a Forerunner relic on a planet locked within a deep ice age, and are studying it with the hopes that it will turn the tide of the war. Elite special forces were dispatched in order to make sure that that does not happen, the Guardians. A highly trained group of commandos, the Guardians are famous for being cross species, having recruited from the UNSC, Seperatists and Renegades. Their mission is to caputre the Foreunner relic for study, and if that is not possible, to destroy it. Heavy resistance is expected and the contents of the relic are still unkown. Good luck soldier!

Ok a couple of ground rules
1.No SPARTANs they are too overpowered, you can be an ODST, a Zealot or a Cheiftan, but no SPARTANs we don't need one person outstripping everyone else.
2.One character per person
3.Please do not alter any major plot decisions, I am more or less the dungeon master (god that was nerdy)
4.No god mode characters
5.Be paitent, please don't post twice in a row
6.Be polite and have fun

History/Personality:
At first glance, the Judge seems harmless enough. A squeaky-voiced midget who moves with a careful, almost deliberate precision. Yet his intelligence and willingness to face death and judgment give a hint to the true nature beneath his gas-masked face.

Nakaw was born on High Charity and was raised there. He was forced into the Covenant military at age 8 and, like other grunts, was used as cannon fodder. In the final years of the Covenant, Nakaw was beginning to take role as an unofficial leader among the grunt ranks. He convinced many of them to take the side of the Separatists, inspiring those who otherwise would not have rebelled against authority.

Duty called him to fight, but now outright hatred threatens to replace it. It's no longer clear whether he fights to stop the devastation caused by the Loyalists, or to avenge what the Covenant had done to his species.

Ok, here's mine

Name: Kalton

Race: Jiralhanae


Age: 74
Rank: Chieftain

Weapons: 2 spikers, 2 spike grenades, a fuel rod cannon

Equipment, Chieftain armor, invincibility unit. Flare. Tactical Command uplink.

Combat skill: Is excellent with weapons of both Covenant and Human design. Is skilled at attacking hardened areas. Is something to be feared in hand to hand combat.

Noncombat skill: Is a natural leader. Has a talent for foreseeing future danger and a tendency to avoid it. Talented public speaker.

Personality: Kalton is not your average Jiralhanae, he is patient, wise and calculating. He holds no grudge towards any species, save the Prophets. He cares deeply for any and all men under his command and goes out of his way to protect them. On more than on occasion this nearly cost him his mission and he was barely able to complete his objective. He has not failed yet, but even current Renegade leadership is keeping a special eye on him. It is worth noting that while he is difficult to move to anger, when he is...the results are terrifying.

History: Like all able bodied of the Jiralhanae of the Covenant era, Kalton was heavily encouraged to join the military, which he did with enthusiasm. He battled in several skirmishes with Human forces, both sides suffering heavy loses each time. During one of these engagements, Kalton's commanding officer was killed by a sniper and he was forced to lead the surviving Jiralhanae through hostile territory. This resulted in his promotion to Chieftain, causing his future to look bright. When the Great Schism occurred, Kalton was stunned at how the Prophets had betrayed the Sangheili. While most Jiralhanae despised them, Kalton respected and admired the Sangheili, and was even good friends with one. Deeply torn as he was ordered to face off against the Separatists, Kalton made up his mind and was among the first wave of Renegades to defect. He quickly rose through the allied ranks, leading major strike forces against the Loyalists, using his knowledge of their tactics to his advantage. It was not long until he was invited into the ranks of the Guardians and to the surprise of many, including his own, he was given command of Squad 7. To date he is the only Jiralhanae to reach a position of command among the Guardians. One day ago, he and his squad were given an order, to capture or destroy a Forerunner relic.

NOTE: Squad 7 will be the name of our unit.

I'm not talking physical strength here. SPARTANs have a tendency to go One Man Army. Like in Halo 1-3, Chief guns down thousands if not tens of thousands of Covenant soldiers (Many of whom were brutes) blew up an armada, blew up a ring world, assassinated a major Covenant leader, blew up half a dozen Scarabs and fought his way through hordes of a deadly parasite. I don't recall a Brute doing anything remotely that impressive, and I also recall wiping the floor with them.

It depends if you go by books or games.
BOOK: Spartans perceive reality as being at about 1/5th speed.
GAME: Spartans have difficulty dodging even slow-moving missiles.

BOOK: A single elite is a match for an entire squad of humans and brutes fuck up the spartans in hand to hand.
GAME: ...Not so much

BOOK: Spartan armor is ultra-diamond-concrete
GAME: A spartan takes four bullets to kill without shields.

BOOK: Spartans can outrun cars
GAME: Spartans have trouble outrunning ordinary soldiers

BOOK: Spartans can lift about a ton
GAME: Spartans effortlessly flip 50 ton tanks. In fact, they don't actually have to move their hands, so presumably they're telekinetic, too.
I actually think Spartans are the worst part of Halo. The covenant is SO much more interesting, both visually and story-wise.

Rank: Has highest cleaence possible, support role.

Weapons: Blue sentnel beam.

Equipment: A Rebuilt Sentinel with stronger sheilds and armor.

Combat skills: Little, she's hesitant to fire the beam because it puts a strain on her power.

Noncombat skills: The best hacker next to other smart A.I.

Physical appearence:


Personality: She's a bit diferent than most of the other A.I. actually having emotion, yet Daniele keeps them away from herself to not interfere with the mission at hand.

History: The first of the new generation of smart AI's created after the suscess of Cortana. Created two years prior to the current events, she was created as a managed for technology. She had salvaged a damaged Sentinal and rebuilt the thing, adding in massivly improved sheild and increasing the laser's power. Also adding a host of new monitoring equipment. she demonstrated her skills at analyzing and a combat support role while exploring a newly discovered foreruner artifact. They were ambushed by a group of loyalists and she help the team until they could be saved by an extraction team.

Because of this, Daniele was put into team seven to help support them on missions.

Misc: No clue what to put here.... She hates mondays?
Has a holo projector built into the sentinel, allowing her to display herself.

Unless I get another person to make a character, we'll have to just go with what we have tomorrow. I might make a couple of NPCs just to make it so that Squad 7 isn't the smallest and most imbalanced commando unit ever made. These NPCs will be different from regular characters, while usually only you can control your character, you can pretty much make the friendly NPCs do whatever is reasonable for them to do.

There really isn't going to be PvP...we're all on the same side. Basically in a normal RPG, you can only control your character saying "X did Y" while it comes to the NPCs you can basically have your character shout commands to them and they will work with you to achieve a common goal. Still working on the sheets.

Combat skills: A skilled marksman, she was commonly put on front lines in highly dangerous situations.
Noncombat skills: Good with morale. Talented at public relations. Amateur therapist.
Appearance: 5'10 short red hair. Green eyes.
Personality: Alison is not what you would expect from a Marine with as many years under her belt as she has. Most would expect someone like that to be jaded and cynical, Alison is anything but. On the contrary, she is positively bubbly, even among her fellow Marines. Is prone to telling jokes, laughing and hugging her fellow personal. People commonly remark, "At first I thought that she was the most godawfully annoying person that I ever met...but she grew on me."
History: Alison joined the Marine Corps in 2547 and served in multiple engagements agains the Covenant, Including the battle of Reach, the 1st and 2nd Battle of Earth and the Battle of the Ark. She has been wounded on several occasions and has had life saving surgery twice. Despite constant offers, she has denied both promotions and retirement. The brass were at their wits end with her...until they found a place for her in Squad 7
Misc: Unlike many Marines, Alison's entire family is alive and well. She received letters from them and writes regularly.

Combat skills: Can withstand damage that would kill most species. Specializes in heavy weapons.

Appearance: Massive, 12 ft tall, bright blue armor.
Personality: Ko is quite and withdrawn, rarely speaking, even to the other members of Squad 7.
History: Ko was part of the Covenant military for the better part of his life. Like most of his kind, he was mostly deployed to high combat zones to neutralize any and all enemy threats. He was on High Charity when the Great Schism began and he and his blood brother fought alongside the Arbiter against the Loyalist forces. He then joined the Speratist forces on Earth where they fought against the onslaught of Loyalist forces. However, during that fateful battle, his blood brother was killed. As bond brothers divide from the same colony, a part of Ko died that day and he wanders from battle to battle, seeking revenge and death. While unstable, his combat skills cannot be denied, and thus he was assigned to Squad 7
Misc: Has no bond brother. Is technically genderless.

Combat skills: Specializes in close range combat, but is a jack of all trades. Is a master with his sword.

Appearance: 8'7 Bright red armor. Thin scar over left eye.
Personality: In many ways, Zal is a stereotypical Sangheili, imposing daily training and meditation sessions on himself, refusing to use Jiralhanae and Human weapons, and not tending to his wounds. However, it has been noted that he is fascinated my other cultures and is eager to observe them. He may be strict, but he is also warm and friendly.
History: As a Zealot, Zal has seen enough combat to have killed thousands of opponents, which he has done. Zal was among one of the first Sangheili to rally agains the Loyalists and fought alongside Humans against them. Zal's forces also made contact with some of the earlier waves of Renegades, and as a result of his actions, the Renegades were allied with the Separatists and the UNSC. Zal was one of the supporters of the creation of the Guardian squads and one of the first to join. He was originally intended to become commander of Squad 7, but stepped down, letting someone else that his place.

Name: Joshua Gordon

Weapons: M90 CAWS Shotgun, M7 Submachine Gun, two frag grenades.

Equipment: ODST battle armor, binoculars, flashlight, necklace with Forerunner symbol

Combat skills: Superb reflexes and instincts for close combat. Trained as ODST.

Noncombat skills: A graduate of the New England Culinary Institute, Joshua is an excellent cook. Due to his religion, he has a respectable - albeit highly inaccurate in many places - knowledge of the Forerunners.

Appearance: Joshua is big at about 6'4, weighing about 200 pounds. He's rather lanky, although by no means is he thin or small. He's obviously a trained soldier, heavily conditioned. He has fairly pale skin, short fade-cut brown hair and hazel eyes, and usually a friendly, amicable smile.

Personality: Pleasant and amiable, highly superstitious. Irritated about being assigned to Squad 7, as he does not light being away from his ODST Squad. He's quite religious, following a recently formed faith that reveres the Forerunners. Some call them New Covenant, although that term is not generally used within the faith due to the negative connotations of the Covenant.

History: Joshua was born and raised on Earth, and for years was lucky enough to avoid the draft to go fight the Covenant, going to culinary school to become a chef. Not long after his graduation at the age of 22, his number finally came up and he joined, scoring extremely high on aptitude tests, high enough that he could have pursued a commission, or gotten a job flying a desk at ONI. Instead, he joined ODST and fought in several actions in the last days of the war. Again he was lucky enough to avoid most of the suicide missions.

That all changed at the Battle of Earth, when he was deployed into southeast Asia to reinforce the faltering marines. Through the month of bloody fighting, most of Joshua's squad was killed, Joshua himself only surviving by chance. He took a Brute Spiker through the chest, a nearly fatal wound that left him in a coma for the remainder of the battle

He awoke four months later, confused. In his coma dreams, he had seen strange shapes and images and heard voices, and as he was appraised of the post-battle of Earth situation, his confusion only mounted. As information regarding the Forerunners came to light, he found himself drawn to a religious group that was forming, a religion that was in many ways a marrying of Christian doctrine and Forerunner history.

For the next year, Joshua was relearning to walk, rebuilding his body when the Covenant threat seemed to rise again. While he was allowed to leave, he decided to re-enlist, not willing to rest until his home was safe.

Appearance: Eric is kind of short at 5'6", weighs 160 pounds, short messy blonde hair, lighter peach-colored skin, and a small scar on upper lip from a fist fight in training.

Personality: Friendly but very nervous and cautious of his surroundings; he's been trying to quit smoking and when he stops he gets a little irritable.

History: When Eric was 6 or 7 years old, him and his older twin brother Owen were playing around a park around the suburbs of their home when Owen suddenly went missing. After the devastating event, the Lindens moved to New Mombasa hoping to start a new life. He graduated from med school with the highest marks and was offered a job at New Mombasa General Hospital where he only worked for a year before the covenant invaded. After nearly escaping with his life Eric found it only suiting to join the ODST as a field medic, and try to push back the Covenant forces terrorizing his city, but by the time his training had finished sadly so did the war. Though fresh out of training Eric still waits for the chance to go into battle, luckily a new war arose and he's just been enlisted.

Misc: Eric's older twin brother Owen was kidnapped at age 7 and possibly deployed as a spartan-II though this is just speculation. Also him and his friends created a battle cry, SYOTOS.

For the Record this is just being put out there as an idea feel free not to accept it, and I know it's not the greatest but I wrote it at 1 in the morning.
