If they space them out then I don't see a problem, say 2 or 3 between now and then, but if they release one every year it may become stale and boring.

[sup]And if anyone flames me, saying that it is, I will hunt you down and kill you, let me have my opinion.[/sup]

Gu-whuh?

I like Halo to be honest but I don't see what they'll do new with it, I don't wanna just see the same game with two new guns in it for any new titles, if they can keep it fresh then they can have as many Halo games as they like.

Quite the contrary, I completely agree with your idea there. As much as I love Halo, I do admit that too much of any good thing is bad. Spacing the releases out further not only makes sure it doesn't get too stale too fast, but also builds up anticipation and hype, which is great for marketing.

Exception being Half Life 2: Episode 3... they're taking waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too fucking long with that. The hype basically imploded.

OK, seriously, I'm sick and fucking tired of people saying there are too many Halo games. There are four, five if you count ODST, and six if you count the yet-to-be-released Reach.

So let's just go with that. Six. How many Call of Duty games are there? How many Mario games are there? How many Pokemon? Grand Theft Auto? Final Fantasy?
The problem is that Halo has a story it wants to tell and is set in the same consecutive universe.
Final Fantasy on the other hand is a new universe, a new story, new setting, new battle system with just about every game. GTA: New world, new story, new stuff. Pokemon just sells and again sells due to the new Pokemons, not the story. CoD: They only have WW2 to work with, and they tell the same story again and again only with a few twists, the only thing they're really building on is the multiplayer (until MW came along which had it all) but they told the same story, not a consecutive story. And Mario, well.. The princess is in another castle so we know what to expect of a 'story' in those.

Halo wants to be a FPS WITH a story, and there comes a time where you push a story too far.

In the end I'm not really interested in Halo. As long as they satisfy their fans without destroying the story by not knowing when to stop, I have no problem with them making new games and can't see why anyone should.

I mean, come on, guys. I've never seen a game get bashed for having just six games (one of which barely counts!). How about you just wait and see what games they have coming out and judge them on being a game rather than them being a Halo game? Is it really that hard? Do people really have to ***** and moan this much about a huge franchise? Seriously, it's not like it's a first...
Agreed. I don't really have that much of a beef with Microsoft, it's just that I'd like to see some more new ideas if they're going to make new games.

Oh, you added a silenced submachine gun and brought back two guns from previous games? And added maybe six hours of new campaign, plus Firefight? I don't agree with the pricetag, but I am glad to see them take a step in a new direction.

Here's hoping Reach knocks my socks off.

There's enough of an extended universe for them to have games not involving John-117 and Cortana. The books really flesh out the world, making so you could really make a story and stick it almost anywhere in there, in a similar fashion to the Star Wars universe (though not nearly as developed).

It's easy to see where this is going, they are just bridging the obvious gap from Halo 3 to Bungie's Marathon series. The games pretty much go together, with Halo being the prequel.

However, if any more Halo "Games" like ODST come out that are nothing more than DLC with a $60 price tag.....fuck you Bungie and Microsoft.

Not. Even. Close.

The Marathon was Earth's first colony vessel, slower than light, on Earth's first interstellar voyage. And yet in the Halo series they've had FTL travel for over two centuries before the game... it'd make more sense if Marathon was a Halo prequel, except that Marathon takes place in the 28th century and Halo in the 26th.

They're entirely different storylines. The congruences between the two are either deliberate nods to the earlier title or artifacts from having the same creator(s).

I give you a hell yeah to that. And you know guys, hal was kind of gold digging. You can only play slayer online without at least buying two of the map packs. It's pretty freaking gay seeing how Slayers not to fun.

I wouldn't be to worried about Micheal Bay. He won't be directing it, it will be the guy who did district 9 and he also did the Halo shorts which were pretty fucking good.

Counting Dissidia there's 23 different Final Fantasy games. Compilations, remakes and things that spawned the Saga series and Mana series don't count. Spin-offs do. If you did count the compilations and such that'd bring the amount of games to a little over 40.

Meh, I think Halo's been going downhill since after the first one. Good for them if they want to keep making them but you won't see me in line for any of those games.

Haven't seen District 9 yet (My family's poor right now, can't afford it :( ) but I heard it was great. As long as Bay stays away from it it should be at least good.

If he makes it the way he made District 9 then it will be really good.
