Call me late to the party, but I saw yesterday that every episode of Mlp:FiM was uploaded commercial free to YouTube, so I decided to open up my personal Pandora's box and watch the first few episodes. Little did I know that I had gone too deep, and now I'm have to watch the next episode regardless of any feelings towards doing so. It seems that I've become a brony overnight, and I'm scared now. (hold me)

So, Escapists, describe how you got hooked on the world of ponydom. How did you watch it, when did you watch it, and why.

I watched it due to hearing a lot about it on here, then I loved it, then I spread it to my friends and now they love it. I just get too curious for my own good. Now I have a windowsil with ponies on it. I just don't know how, they just made me instantly love them.

Honestly, I used to be a bit... wary of the show, until I finally got around to watching it and well? I honestly like it. The characters are good, the stories are interesting, the show is just all around god.

A word of warning, friend: like all fandoms, this show is not without it's... crazy fans. I advise you to stay as far away from them as possible.

I find the aesthetic of the show very pleasing. I love the design of the ponies and the flash style animation. I have stuck pony stickers from redbubble on my PC case alongside the Loki and Korra ones :3

First, I heard about bronies: Grown men like MLP? Intriguing. I figured it must be pretty good if it can attract such a fanbase. So I Youtubed it, saw some clips, watched an episode... then another... and yeah, you know where this is going.

Fluttertwilight Sparkleshy is best pony.

Thought it looked awful. Watched a clip that someobody said was funny. Watched the first episode. Has now watched eevry episode, but is saving the latest for later.

I watched two episodes and found it to be a very saccharine and overly cutesy experience. I also wasn't a fan of how they levitated objects around themselves instead of holding them, and I disliked the lack of solid black outlines.

So yeah. Never again.

But yeah that's kinda what happened with me. Watched the first couple of episodes and thought 'hey this isn't bad'. Then I watched another. And then another. Then things got a little hazy (geddit?) and before I knew it I'd watched both seasons

I remember first hearing about MLP. I decided to give it a shot, watched the first episode. It was a two-parter, so I had to watch the second episode as well. Then I found out those two were a sort of intro, and I should watch episode three to get an accurate feel for the show. Then it was 3:00am. The rest as they say, is history. Quite enjoyable, as an avid player of the total war series you almost forget how much fun non-violence can be.

OT: When I first heard about MLP FIM, I just blew it off as just another mindless show for little girls to watch. Then, while I was here on the Escapist, I started to notice a whole bunch of people with Pony avatars. I thought this was rather strange, but I rolled with it. Eventually, I heard about how good this show was, so I went on Youtube and watched the first couple of episodes.

At the time I thought, this was okay, nothing spectacular. Then I decided to watch another episode, and then another, and then another, and then another...

Eventually I watched the entire first season. Somewhere along the way, I realized that I've fallen in love with the show. At first, I felt weird considering that I'm a grown man that enjoys a show primarily aimed towards little girls. Of course, after seeing the community and talking with fellow bronies, I was more than okay with the idea.
