Eh. Going with freedom. If I have that then I am confident that I'd simply have to persevere and I'd eventually find some small amount happiness.

Oh, and DocAscii? Way to slap us all down with the intellectual cynicism. In no way do I disagree, but that was about as subtle as a brick to the face.

I can't help but remember that episode of Angel with that demon chick providing peace and happiness for ignorant bliss. Anyway I'd go for freedom, my goal in life is to see all there is to see, do all their is to do. Plus I despise ignorance and wish for us to move on to the future, and not placate ourselves. I think I'll take the red pill and go further down the rabbit hole.

ignorance is bliss or knowledge is power....pick your poison. i am partial to the painful existence the truth, as you know, will set you free.

freedom, because without freedom, even the happiness is an illusion. Also, the two are certainly not mutually exclusive in reality, so i choose freedom because happiness is transitory, and freedom is enduring, so long as you fight for it.

For a Matrix-like situation where the happiness comes from an literal illusion, then freedom. Otherwise happiness please.

Silly choice is silly.

If you had to choose, which one would it be? Basically I'm asking that, if we lived in the Matrix, and someone offered you a red pill, with which you'd be free of the illusion, but have to deal with the harsh ,cruel, reality, or a blue pill, with which you'd continue on in a happy sate of blissful ignorance, which one would you choose?
Red Pill. I want to learn everything in a 24 hour red bull fest. ;D
Then get killed by agents...

Happiness please! Who cares about being in an illusion if it's awesome?
Better then being jacked in by an agent and killed off. ;)
Really? So you'd rather be unhappy for a while, then die; than being happy for a while, then die?

Crush up both pills. Snort them.
I vaguely remember seeing a webcomic of some sort that came to the same conclusion. XKCD, I think.

Happiness. I mean, if there was a Matrix type machine that some robots wanted to plug me into; where I have dozens of wives, infinite monies and Fireflys been going strong for years I would give up that little abstract idea of freedome in a moment.

Edit: Damn 100th post went by without me noticing

I'd rather be blissfully ignorant, really. Freedom with the benefit of a miserable life gets you nothing aside from the benefit of the doubt.

Freedom would make me happy, especially if it was something real, rather then something fabricated. :)
Freedom would make you happy? Even though you'd be trapped in a part of this 'real world' because loads of robots want to tear you into pieces? Well... Whatever floats your boat really.

Tough choice but I think happiness wins if the concepts become mutually exclusive. Freedom is kind of pointless if you aren't enjoying being free.
