Happy three-year anniversary to My Little Pony!

That's right my fellow Bronies and Pegasisters! On this day three years ago, October 10th 2010, the first episode of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, titled "Mare in the Moon", first aired on Television.

It's hard to believe that three years has passed already since this show came out, but to me, that just proves that it's been going strong. This was a show that nobody saw coming. A show that none thought would last very long, and certainly not as long as this. We've had our ups and downs to be sure, but this show, and this brilliant fandom that was born from it, have proved to many not just that shows can reach far more than their intended audience, but that the fans can do so much good with it.

I have never, in all my life, been as involved with any fandom as I have been since I started watching this show, and I've loved every moment.

So from me, I give a great big thank you to Lauren Faust, the guys at Hasbro, and to all you wonderful MLP fans out there for helping to make this show so fantastic.

And here's to MLP itself. May it go on for many more years to come yet.

With the size of the fandom, it is kinda hard to believe this thing only started 3 years ago. And with how much I'm invested in it, I can't believe I became a brony only about half a year ago.

Change "half a year" to "early 2012" and I have the exact same sentiment.
I remember going to a convention in July and thinking:
"I'm at a convention for My Little Pony. Cospalying as one of it's characters. In a show that only started three years ago.
...
Awesome"

Seriously, our growth as a fanbase is unbelievable sometimes.

Because, you know, My Little Pony has been around since 1983, and is thus thirty years old this year.

And FiM is directly based on the original G1 MLP cartoon. Just sayin'.

The growth of the pony fandom is kind of completely amazing.

My friends, my family, my Bronies, it has been a wonderful past few years. I can't wait for what comes next, every smile and laugh and tear, because I know, ultimately, that my life is far better just knowing of what those few friends have brought me. I doubt that we'll be the last fandom, but there's no doubt in my mind that we'll remain the best. God bless you all, and may God bless the fandom!

Really? That old? I knew it was old, but that...

Oh, that takes me back. The time one of them wishes it'd stop raining and the world is destroyed by drought, or the time the world was destroyed by a purple fungus that smothered everything (I think those were MLP).

Surprisingly dark, IIRC.

(Mind you, I always liked the Rainbow Brite movie better...that weird planet of crystal was pretty cool)

But yeah, hard to believe. I've only been a fan of the show for 11 months, and only considered myself a "brony" for half a year, but great show, and there aren't enough of those on TV anyways.

Huh, it's been three years since FiM started? Well I'm not as big of a fan of the series as I used to be I still think fondly of it. Here's hoping season 4 is good.

Seriously, MLP:FiM has been a lesson in humility for me. I was skeptical at first and then the music drew me in, and I fell in love. Equestria girls came out and I was still skeptical, and I saw all the characters I came to love and fell in love all over again. And now I'm eagerly counting down the days til season four, giddy with childlike anticipation.
