You guys shouldn't feel too bad. I've been in the same relationship for eight years and have yet to be surprised with anything on Valentine's Day by my boyfriend v:

I had the same experience. Every year the same flowers, year after year. He probably had them on an automatic schedule. We're not together anymore and I'm quite enjoying being single. One good thing - the gym was nearly empty tonight!

Why are you so superficial? Its a freaking day where people sell chocolates and flowers. Why do you DEMAND to be amazed every single year without anything in return? No wonder he didn't survive your ridiculous standards that you set upon him.


Now people, I'm not trying to be rude, but you're being extremely insensitive and demeaning to single people.

This year, I didn't sulk on the fact that I was single, I embraced it. I went to school, said I was a "born virgin" jokingly, put on the forever alone face every now and again, went home, and sat down on the couch to play Gotham City Impostors and Deus Ex: The Conspiracy.

Today was pretty good. I think I'll do the same thing tommorow.

Hey in the UK it's not been V-day for almost 4 hours. I didn't even notice. I think the only time it was even mentioned today was when my flatmate said we probably shouldn't go to the cinema till tomorrow as it'd be packed out with couples.

Probably also helps that I don't go clubbing. Nightclubs are a nightmare on valentine's day. Actually nightclubs are a nightmare any time IMO.

I don't and can't drink so that option is out of the question. I am, however, pissed in the American sense of the word. Was only able to use my computer (using laptop right now) for about five minutes before the internet decided to become stupid and not wouldn't work for about an hour and a half at which point I just decided to turn the dumb thing off.

Meh, Valentines day is just another day for me. As I'm single by choice, it doesnt really hold anything for me, and I go through the day without suffering from the common morose state many singles are plagued by.

Eh, today just went by. I am at the usual point of the day now where I don't really want to do anymore homework, video games aren't really appealing this late, and I am left with figuring out how to spend my time.
I was reading Katawa Shoujo in times like this, but I read through that so now I need something else to occupy my spacious mind. Perhaps I shall look for some more reading material.

Well my friend, I do drink for the taste and enjoy some quality single-malt whiskey. And I hate being drunk so I only drink one small glass and call it quits for the day.

I'm single but I'm happy. I can't stand people and have no desire to be in a relationship. I value my freedom and do not wish to compromise it.

What actually bothers me most is that all the girls get each other cool stuff like chocolate and crap, just cos they're friends. How come THEY get to get cool stuff even when they're single? How come culture means I can't get or give anything cool from my guy friends on this day?
