From the Demo I got to see a very gritty very blue cyberpunky setting where my gun turns into all the guns I need and I am both told 'not to go on a rampage' but the gameplay seems to be designed to blow up any and everything. It was an interesting play but it's like 30-40 bucks. how LONG is the game? I'm getting very tired of buying AAA games and getting hit with under 40 hours of gameplay.

So do I buy Hard Reset?

Hard Reset is very short. You'll finish it in about 4 hours.

You're expecting a FPS to be 40+ hours long?

Mind = Blown.

To sound like less of a douche- I've never heard of such a thing. 4-8 hours is standard fare for FPSes. If you know of a 40+ hour FPS...by all means, let me know.

thease days..and IMO even that thats not acceptle half the time (4 hours? what a friggen joke) regardless of genre

however you could argue online focus was the whole idea anyway *sigh* I have a glimmer of hope for rage...somthing with a story and length

I just finished Unreal(the first one), that game feels like it goes on forever.

Go back and play the older FPS games. Sure they probably don't get to the 40 hour mark, but they get much closer than current games.

If you like the demo, then you'll like the full game. It's more of the same. It's NOT NOT NOT NOT NOT NOT a AAA title though... it's an indie. IF you speedrun it, then you'll beat it in 3-4 hours, but if you really capitalize on the scavenger hunt element, then it should get you at least 6, which is about average. I've read some people on the Steam forums who have said they've gotten up to 12.

Just remember that it's a very old school game in nature. It isn't the sort of game you play once and never install again. No no no. It's meant to be endlessly replayed. The game knows this since it gives you an NG+ mode :). I'm on NG++ right now playing through on insane. It's great!

Plus, Flying Wild Hog needs your money if you want them to make more games! Support the little guy! Nothing pisses me off more than people saying things like "Oh, I guess I will wait for their next game" with regards to indie devs. If you don't buy their current game, then their might not be a next one! Hard Reset is a good time.

This isn't true. Play the game for yourself and stop basing everything you read on reviews. The reviewers had to speed run it on easy since they needed get their reviews out on a timely basis.

Please, stop spreading misinformation.

Yeah. Not AAA, and pretty sure it's only 25 bucks. It is in ? and we always get the expensive price.

It is somewhat short... or rather, the ending is very abrupt. But the Demo is half an hour of more fun than the last 5 years have been in the entire genre...

GET IT!

Hard Reset over heated my PC. It usually runs at somewhere around 55-60 degrees under load, but HR pushed it to 78+ degrees. I tried running other games (Crysis and Civ V) to see if they would overheat my machine in a similer way but they didn't. The overheating only happened with Hard Reset.

I don't know if this is a common problem or something specific to me, but I'd recomend anyone with this game checks their core temp after playing just to be safe.

It's fun, but it's not worth $40. Especially when you consider all the games that are coming out in the next couple of months. It's just a short campaign. No multiplayer, nothing to keep you playing once you're done with the campaign.

... other than a new game plus mode that lets you play again on a harder difficulty and continue to collect all the upgrades.

I thought the game is only around £10-15? (checks online) Fuck me its priced at £23, it definitely needs a pricecut of a fiver

How does it scale up in difficulty, is it fun?

That's not misinformation.

I got the game on Steam. Four hours later, maybe four and a half if I'm being generous, I was uninstalling it from Steam because I had finished it. I was playing on medium difficulty.

Don't get me wrong, it's a decent game. Pleasingly chaotic run-and-gun with a nice sense of flow. Rather repetitive though. Tons of hand-holding as well, which I didn't mind, but it might put some people off.
