I don't really see why it matters, just enjoy what you want.

But to add some perspective, if you were only taking in a single piece of work from any art form people wouldn't really acknowledge you as a connoisseur in those arts either, and probably suggest you expand your horizon.

It's not technically a game, since every game has a goal (unless there's some sort of build-it campaign I haven't heard of). The Sims is kind of like Minecraft, you set your own goals (and rules, sometimes). It's a toy, not a game. Not that there's anything wrong with it!

EDIT: Hey I just got the thread title. Whammy!
In real life, I can mention a lot of games just made for fun without a specific goal. And if you choose your own goal, it's still a goal.

Oh yeah, I can mention another game I've played sometimes. It's actually a multiplayer, called Maplestory. It's kind of an RPG. It's not as free as TS, it's hard to find anything that is. But I can still choose which goal to aim for. As I do in the sims.

Love the sims, have done since the first and can't wait for the sims 4 (pushed back? boooooo!)
It's totally a game, just because it's not a game that allows you to run around and shoot people, drive too fast (unless you're playing with some crazy mods) doesn't make it any less of a game, it's just in a catagory of it's own!

CAPTCHA: don't waste time ... oh yes I will, I'm at work gdamnit!
