RPGs...Mages. They require careful management of MP and often die in one or two hits.

For shooters, likely close range combatants. Getting in close with a shotgun is kinda hard when your opponent can kill you from 4x the range.
I disagree. I say Priests are harder. Not only do they need the careful MP management, but they also have sucky attack powers as well.

Assuming this game has priests. Like WoW. ^^ If not then Ill agree with you. (Y)
Hey, I don't play MMOs, and most single player RPGs don't have a class like the priest. But yeah, healers have it rough. Who heals you, huh? Who heals you when you're low on MP after healing your team?
Mages in Elder Scrolls: Oblivion. I've been playing for hours, gotten to level 20+, and my character's spells still don't do very much damage. And since my aim degrades combat to close range, it makes it quite difficult indeed. And at this point, the things I spawn from beyond Dante's Circles are terrible against something much weaker than them.

I still curse myself for not buying the PC version; I could mod it...

Healer for me, what can I say, I'm made for killing not healing. Healers in RPG's are a death trap for me and my team, and the only "almost - decent" healer I can be is in Resistance 2.

For some reason I really suck as Demo on TF2, I don't know what it is but I just can't do it.

For me, playing a priest/healer in an RPG is easy - like in Guild Wars, or Shaiya. But if I'm getting attacked by, say, a warrior or just some melee fighter, my team usually never helps. And then they get pissed when you die and then they do 'cause it's your fault you can't heal them while you're getting your ass kicked.

Also, maybe magic users. Or maybe that's just me? I've never been able to get into playing one.

Soldier in TF2. I don't know what it is, just something about me and using this class tends to result in people running merry circles around me whilst my rockets explode harmlessly on the ground, which makes no sense to me as I've managed to get quite good at blowing up scouts using the demoman with his launcher... thing... I don't know the names, whichever isn't the sticky grenade launcher. That thing doesn't even fly straight, for goodness sake

Not to turn this into a WoW thread but Warriors in that game are so hard to play and level your nothing without a priest to help you.

You didn't just level up as fast as possible, right? You remembered to buy new spells,
right? You also started making more powerful spells at the altars, right? Most people's mistakes in Oblivion are related to forgetting to level up their skills in a balanced manner. It don't matter if you're level 20 if you only have a skill of 50 in Destruction. The goal is to get Destruction to 100 ASAP. I know this stuff. I've played it for over 2500 hours and have over 18000 manual saves.

Bard. Wow, you have a lute and can play melodies. How is that going to stop that giant angry minotaur that wants to tear you apart again?

I'm a 21 with 100 in conjuration, 80 or so in destruction, and 50 in resto. I have Wizard's Tower, so I'm making spells every chance I get.

in WoW id have to say the hardest classes to play were hunter or druid. and for FPSs it would be any close-range firearm class.

anything that uses magic of somesort. they can never use more than light armor and can't use any good fire power, and of course, when they run out of magic, then what? a combonation of piss poor armor and weaker than a twig firepower, they get killed nearly instantly

Oblivion combat is kinda...spammy. I don't really consider any of it hard.
Also, the Pyro from TFC. No one ever played him because he was totally useless.

Hmmm...try spells that do about 45 damage for 2 seconds on target. Also, consider turning down the difficulty slider to about 1/4 full or so. Also, multielement spells are great if you don't want to have to toggle elements all the time. Frost is pointless as only the Spider Daedra and Flame Atronach are weak to it. Fire/Shock combo spells work wonders since nearly everything is weak to one of those. General Daedra hate shock, and Undead/Trolls hate fire. So, make a spell as powerful as you can.

45 damage for 2 seconds on target is cheaper than 90 damage for one second on target. Which means you can pull out more castings. 2 seconds will likely have past between spells if your target is moving.

Much obliged. As for the difficulty, I'm trying to one-up myself.

lord if the rings:battle for middle earth is hopeless when you are playing online as either of the hard armies (Isenguard or Mordor). Neither army has any sort of decent base defense, so you basically get owned unless you own them first.

An archer in Oblivion, could never get a single kill with a bow.
At higher skill levels, it becomes just too easy. Once you can zoom (50) your range improves immensely. Once you hit 75 and can get knockdowns on any shot, life's a breeze. You never one-hit something, but you can often put an enemy down long enough for a couple more freebies.
