Hardest: Resistance: Fall of Man on Superhuman.

Easiest: might be Assassin's Creed.

Contra would have to hold that spot for me. I was never able to beat it without using the Konami code...

Hardest: I Wanna Be the Guy. I eventually gave up and just watched the Lets Play. I mean, when a game gets to the point where you're not even having fun anymore... that's a good time to stop.

Easiest: Probably the Spyro series, but I thinks those are meant to be easy. :D Alternately... Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction. Even if only three or four weapons were worth using.

Easy one for me was was probably Age Of Mythology for PC

Hardest is just two games both the same game in a way

7th Guest and 11th Hour. Half the puzzles on that game just gave you the middle finger and throwing your computer out of the window was the only real way to calm yourself down.

Easiest is definitely Turtles in Time.

Hardest would probably be...whatever Tenchu game it was that had the two main female characters. It was like Silent Assassins or something of that nature. I loved the original though. PSX blood FTW!!!

Easiest: World of Warcrap. Hands-down. There's no skill or strategy involved. That's a game that you can pick up in an instant and be as good as all of the other 13-year-old kids in no time flat.

Hardest: Pac Man. I can never beat the first goddamn level of that game without losing at least a few lives.

Impossible: Final Fantasy X-2. Well, not the game itself, but the additional 100 floor basement. Every 20 floors there's a boss. I'm on like floor 60 or 80 or something. The boss is literally impossible. I've hit him with over sixty 9,999 attacks (that's around 600,000 HP damage) and he still doesn't go down. This is also a guy who can one-hit KO your entire party with one attack, so you're forced to use your ultimate dresspheres and have them spam Raise on the main character. Once you run out of MP, you just rinse and repeat.

Hardest game ever...hmm.....I'd have to say Ninja Gaiden, since it doesn't have an easy mode like Ninja Gaiden 2 and whenever you finish a fight you don't regenerate that little bit of health back. That can make all the difference in a fight.

FPS:

Hardest: Halo (original) on Legendary considering this was back in 2001 where I was just beginning to get used to FPS. The Library level... ugh, don't get me started...

Easiest: Battlefield 1942 single player skirmishes. The AI is flat out retarded unless in a tank.

TBS/RTS:

Hardest: Civilization 4 on deity. Archers do NOT make good counters to helicopters...

Easiest: Supreme Commander. It is way to easy to turtle because of how overpowered base defenses are. Just sit there and build up a force of 200+ gunships. That's how I got past the campaigns. (Also, there is hardly any difference between the 3 races, other than their experimental units)

easiest - Zelda on the SNES (I played Link's Awakening on the Game Boy version first, which was a lot better but borrowed heavily), Kung Fu Master on the Game Boy - most games on the Game Boy were quite easy tbh

Hardest - Pac In Time (there is a level late on which has bugged me to this day, I swear it is impossible), Wimbledon on the Master System used to seriously stress me out in Career mode (but Wimbledon 2 was piss easy), all Dizzy games - I hate them with a passion, and Lumines - my brain keeps wanting to make Tetris lines.

Hardest: Battletoads. I would never have beaten this game without seriously abusing save states.

Easiest: I'm going to say Super Mario Galaxy, simply because the easy-ness of this game drove me to stop playing it. There may have been easier games I've played, but SMG really sticks out.

Hardest = Chronicles of Narnia: Lion Witch and the Wardrobe PS2
(With 2 people co-operating we still couldn't beat the stupid escaping from the wolves level)

Easiest = Vectorman Sega Genesis
Nothing like beating a game on easy, medium and hard all in a row in under 4 hours.

For hardest I'd have to go with Hunter: The Reckoning (Xbox), as it took us over 5 hours to beat a single level, and there were four people playing (though you share lives). However, since most people probably haven't heard of it I'd have to go with Simcity. Seriously, those little bastards are never happy no matter how much you try, and you inevitably go into debt.

As for easiest, the only things I can really think of right now are like Eternal Sonata, the first Devil May Cry (could get through in about 4 n' half hours), Oblivion, Final Fantasy Tactics Advance, and maybe Resident Evil 4.

Hardest: between Commandos 3 and Homeworld 1/2, there's that fine line between extreme motivation and frustration.

Geometry Wars gets a mention, since I can't seem to last more than around five straight minutes into the damn thing.

Easiest: Diablo 2. Finished the game on single-player without dying once till I got to Hell difficulty.

Easiest: Probably Portal.

Hardest: Homeworld 2. They literally count up your army and resources at the end of the mission, determine what ships you focused on, and give the enemies the counters to those ships in significantly greater numbers. Yeah. That's fair. Pretty much the only way to get through the campaign is to sell all your ships at the end of each mission, so the enemies have about 2 fighters at their disposal instead of colossal fleets built specifically to destroy yours.

I guess it makes a little sense, like they sent reports on our forces back or something, but the game never says anything like that so I just cry foul.

Easiest: A SpongeBob game I played when I was about 10. I clocked the game in around 2 hours, and it was a simple point-and-click game.

Hardest: I'll give an honourable mention to Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, simply because of the ***** that was The Epilogue on Veteran. Scratch that, all of it on Veteran. Though, I think that Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfare gets the cake, simply because on Hard, the enemies always aim for the head, and one shot kills.

Though, I'm guessing Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway will be a pain, since on Realistic, they have no checkpoints during a mission, and you die in a shot. Though, I haven't played it, but this is just what I've gathered from it's predecessor.
