Back when I was younger, the Ansem fight from Kingdom Hearts was a ***** (the last one before the ship showed up, after that it was easy).

And the spider from Metroid Fusion is the most annoying boss, although it isn't the last.

The final castle takeovers in Mount and Blade.

Killing 20 fucking lords and about 300 enemies while trying to make it through some narrow passage onto their battlements.

Virgil, Devil May Cry 3 was pretty hard. It actually took ability to beat him unlike this next guy.

In God of War Ares was just frustratingly cheap.
God of War's fighting mechanic is pretty crap to be honest, the QTE's that made you feel awesome hid the fact that Kratos is actually everyone's ***** in that game.

The trick with Virgil is to equip BeoWulf gauntlets.

Radec from Killzone 2 is incredibly difficult, he can teleport away from you or right next to you, and his stabby mc stab attack is a one hit kill.

Guilty Spark.

Just kidding! I've got to go with the Archdemon from Dragon Age. I died seven times ON EASY DIFFICULTY before I finally killed the bastard. Although I didn't know I could call in reinforcements, and I forgot to kill one of the generals.

RAAM from Gears of War goes without saying.
RAAM was easy. I beat him on the first try.
...

The Archdemon was the most dissapointingly easy final boss I have ever had the displeasure of facing. How? Summon magi reinforcements, stay behind a ballista for the entire battle and keep firing it. I did it on normal in about five minutes without losing anyone.

No Duriel mentions, yet, so Duriel from D2. Not a final boss, true, but he could easily wipe folks out on hardcore and prevent people from seeing any of the game.

It wasn't -hard-, but the final boss of ME2 took forEVER (because I had to kill it with an smg.) Actually, most boss fights I can remember end up like that- not hard, but I screwed something up and had to kill it in a highly unconventional and time consuming way.

This is why I don't bother with ME2 on anything higher than veteran difficulty. It has very little to do with skill and every fight just becomes a war of attrition until the either the enemies or dead or you give up and decide it's not worth it.

I can understand giving the enemies better aim, pathfinding and powers but cranking up their health is just cheap, plus it takes all the fun out of nailing a headshot..

To be honest, Persephone in God of War: Chains of Olympus was the hardest boss I ever had to defeat.

I don't know what it was, but it was near impossible.

I... uhh... can't think of one. Pretty much every game I can think of had a boss in it that was harder than the final boss, especially in Final Fantasy games...

I agree to the arch-demon in Dragon Age. Oh my god, on the hardest difficulty it literally took me about 30 or 40 tries to kill that sucker. My friend used the infinite money glitch with the scale armor, and it still took 10+ tries with all the best items in the game. That is the definition of hard. Also, props to Ninja Gaiden 2. Hard. As. Crap.

URRGGH. I HATED that boss so much. Its ground slamming move nearly drove me insane. And since the energy was off through out the station, to re-charge your sheilds having to spend ages trying to reclaim it back off single X creatures. Then having to fight SAX straight afterwards. Sorry for the rant but that nighmares of that level sill haunt me to this day....

The last level on Simpsons: Hit and Run. Goddamn those nuclear waste explosions. I replayed it earlier today and finally completed it so maybe it's coz I was young and didn't have much experience with games.

The giant creature at the end of borderlands was tough on playthrough 2.
What? That battle consisted of me standing in the same place, with minimal dodging, shooting his face for 15 minutes. Not only was it pathetically easy, it was painfully boring.

The "bonus secret final boss" from General Knoxx on the other hand, I gave up trying to kill it around the time when I entered the arena and was hit for roughly 3000 damage.

It wasn't INCREDIBLY challenging, but fighting Boss from MGS3 took me a while. That's not a very good example though.

I'll tell you that in RE3, when the Nemesis mutates, the first time I did it, the game glitched or something, and it wouldn't let me leave. I think it's because I killed it with my own weaponry instead of the giant canon.

What else was hard... The final boss fight from Uncharted took me like, 2 hours, but it was late at night and we were getting goofy...

I like games with challenging final boss fights. I'm sure that I've had serious problems with like, Crash Bandicoot games. And racing games.

Ares on the second hardest difficulty in God of War. I never could quite beat him.

Recently, I'd say Prototype. I beat it once before, and now while replaying it I can't get him. It's making me mad.

Aside from that, Diablo and Diablo 2 always were difficult.

Also at the end of Icewind Dale, you fight a fucking Demon. And this is the Buffy the vampire slayer version of a demon from hell. You know, like when the mayor turns into a giant snake and starts eating the students.

Anyway, He's tougher than a Dragon.
