I'm stuck on Ninja Gaiden II, and I still can't fly the stupid plane in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. Oh, and then there's Guitar Hero on Expert.
Yes, I know, these are probably child's play to you people. But keep in mind that while many of you see mastering an incredible difficult game as some kind of skill worth bragging about, some of us still play games for pure entertainment. And we are not willing or able to spend more than a few hours a week doing something that really doesn't matter all that much.
This is why I never got into poker. Potential to lose money based largely on random chance and my ability to lie? No, that doesn't sound all that fun, sorry.

Well, the harderst game I ever played was an old strategy game called Commandos. Loved it, though, despite coming nowhere close to the end!

Space Hulk and in lesser term Space Hulk 2 (bonus mention goes to NetHack). Space Hulk is the hardest normal game I have ever played in my life, and I have played games already for over 22 years on pretty much every platform.
NetHack, and other Rogue-likes get an honorany mention on this. I have played NetHack for almost 15 years, and I have ascended (played it through) only five times. Compare that amount to the fact that I play approximately 100 games of NetHack a year (random dungeons, so each game is unique)
