I would say Shogun: Total War. You could be doing well in the battles but if your heir died you would still lose. Tricky.
Seriously. You thought this game was hard? I was able to beat it the first weekend after I bought it.Twad said:A boy and his blob (the original NES version)

I concur. Life doesn't even let you choose a difficulty setting. It just automatically selects difficulty, class, abilities...and not even any custom facial features--it randomly picks that, too! This game is ass; not even worth a rental. Rent MW2 instead.beholdmycape said:Life : the game. The graphics are nice but it's hard as fuck, and there's no continues.
By reading all those other posts, I wanted to do something different. I tryed. And, at the end, try to get some conclusion for this, for myself mostly, but anyway...geldonyetich said:Done. Tee hee, I post that every time I see this topic.
You basically took, "Tell me what you think the hardest game ever is (and, it is implied, you are free to elaborate as to why)" and replaced it with "When considering games and why they are hard for you, elaborate what you think the hardest game ever is and elaborate as to why."
The first sign should have been when the type of replies you received looked identical.
Personally, the answer isn't all that simple for me. "Hardness" comes in many flavors, and some are more legitimate than others in my book. If you can beat a game only by memorizing patterns of where the bad guys are going to spawn, I'm not sure I'd call that gaming skill so much as memorization skill. Most "hard" games (like I Want To Be The Guy or insane smups) fall into this category, but I'd call that "faux hardness."
I think the real hard games are the ones that really make you think deeply and don't give you patterns to memorize. Perhaps getting the Amulet of Yendor in Nethack.

How are you going to reach a conclusion when the topic is so subjective?zamble said:By reading all those other posts, I wanted to do something different. I tryed. And, at the end, try to get some conclusion for this, for myself mostly, but anyway...
