Hardest game you've ever beaten

There are more than a few threads that talk about hard games. But this threads gonna be a little different. Instead of people just name dropping some obscure SNES title they heard from the AVGN or some other classic game critic, post about the hardest game that you were actually able to conquer.

P.S. no flaming others with empty comments like " *qoute* OMG U thot tat was herd!? joo n00b!" ... well I know nobody really talks like that here, but still. You understand what I'm saying.

The hardest game I have ever beaten was call of duty 4 on Veteran mode. Heat and mile high club were a complete nightmare.

Agreed. I was never able to actually beat it. That game drove me insane with frustration that eventually I gave in, bought a gameshark and blew everyone to hell. I beat it, but I consider it that I've seen the ending more than I beat the game. I'm hugely against cheating, but I just had to kill that bastard smoke, and that damn Samuel L. Jackson.

QFT! I had almost forgotten about that one. Yeah, there were definitely a lot of "WTF?!!? That is such crap!!!" moments for me. And I was just playing it on regular difficulty, not even extra-hard.

Probably Cod:WaW on veteran. Cod4 was fairly easy on veteran, apart from 1 or 2 levels.

Devil May Cry 3: Dante Must Die difficulty (DMC4 is too easy)
Touhou 8: Imperishable Night on normal (I was really close at least. 5 more seconds and I would have won...)

Commandos: Behind Enemy Lines on PC. It came out in 1998. I completed it in 2005 (when I should have been revising for uni exams).

Demon's Souls has a rep of being hard. That was kids play compared to Commandos.
