Probably Cod:WaW on veteran. Cod4 was fairly easy on veteran, apart from 1 or 2 levels.
By god, I swear CoD:WaW should be called Call of Duty: Grenade Whores.

Near every goddamned level was non-stop *tink tink..BOOM*

Yeah, my flawless strategy was sprint forward and pray. Suprisingly effective.

The hardest game I have ever beaten was Call of Duty 2 on veteran. I don't know but, for me personally the newer Call of Duties do not seem to have quite the same amount of difficulty.

"Twinky goes Hiking" on tape (!) for the C64, an ancient platforming game made before I was even born. You couldn't save and had a very limited number of total lives (3, I think), so I had to beat it in one sitting with almost no mistakes.

For me it would probably be either the Blood Harvest campaign from Left 4 Dead on expert, or Call of Duty World At War, simply because at this point in the war apparently the Germans were out of ammo and so they just handed everybody an insane amount of grenades, what I'm getting at is the grenade spam was insane.

That one or Battletoads. Yes I actually finished that god-awful game with out using a game genie or anything. And yes it was the equivalent of smashing my head with a large 2x4 with lots of nails sticking out of it.
Of course Ninja Gaiden had a lot of head smashing against the wall moments too.

Konami Wai Wai World.

Yes I'm bland. I haven't beaten anything that's THAT hard.

Working on Zombies Ate My Neighbours however.

I am impressed. That campaign and the game are really difficult.

God of War on God Mode. Took me forever to beat the Kratos clones.
Same for me - it's one of the only games where I feel like I've done everything possible - completed on hardest difficulty, done the extra challenges, all secrets. I wasn't nearly as bothered by GoW2.

The problem I find is that none of the games I play really seem to be hard - it usually comes down to fun or tedious.

I'm gonna go old school on this and say Contra for the NES. They DO NOT make games that hard anymore. And by "beat" I mean use the cheat code to get 30 lives for two player co-op. I'm not sure how many people have beaten it solo without the cheat, but it can't be too many.

My friends beat Super R-type with a PC port, having one person play and the other quicksave and quickload constantly, and it was still difficult to the billionth power. Modern games like COD and so forth are much more fun, but nowhere near as difficult. They literally don't make them like they used to, but I'm actually glad of it.

Pfff... Mafia was pretty hard. I'm not really into dying 500 times during a level though, so if there's an option I just leave it on 'Normal'.

People says that [PROTOTYPE] is hard (on normal), but I found it to be rather easy. But I'm not touching Hard, because I heard that the bullets could actually kill you!

Mirrors edge on hard without using guns was pretty difficult but for the hardest ever I would say Silent Hill, A) for being hard and B) for nearly making me cry
