Exactly my thought. I read through the Aussie news about it but there wasn't any explanation as to why her father and brother attacked her.

EDIT: @ the second link; That is just fucking wrong. I dont give a damn what religion someone hails from, ANY man who grievously damages a women like that has no right to marry a woman, see a woman and should have that done back at them on the dick. That's just plain sick, do they carry around a Jar of Jarate with them for these moments?

The only motive I can find is that she was "allegedly" dating a Hindu man. I can't find anything with solid evidence to back it up, however.
