as im sure everyone knows by now, WB has decided to portray harry potters final adventure in 2 films instead of 1, which WOULD be fine, except their 6 films worth of detail butchering too late to pretend they give a crap about quality now!!! because we all know that, even with 4 or 5 hours of story telling time, theyre STILL gonna cock it up! and its not like we can choose not to watch it, thats like choosing not to breathe! what does everyone else think?

(i know personaly, when harry get captured and locked up in draco manor im gonna stand up and shout "HA! WHAT NOW ASSHOLE!? BET YOU WISH YOU HAD THAT MAGIC MIRROR NOW!")

Meh, pointless rant.
You're bitching about WB wanting more money,
but yet still say you don't want to miss the movies?
I haven't seen Harry Potter 6 before, and I coped.
If you're so pissed off, don't watch!
I need a drink.

I love the films. I have real trouble concentrating with books, can't read them for more than a page at a time for shit. I have no qualms with the last being being split into two parts either. I can imagine the hardcore fans dismay, but for me, it's nothing that matters.

It'll just be like the 2nd and 3rd Matrix films, and they were great, right?

I personally think they should have done the whole series as a mini-series (obviously not so mini) on TV. It would have allowed for so much more to be added to the adapted version.

That being said, I don't mind them breaking up the movie into two parts...I just can't believe they're making people wait almost a year to see part 2.

Breaking the movie into two parts was the smartest thing that series has done.

I'm rather happy that the book is being split into two parts. It's too long for one film; unless viewers would be comfortable sitting through six hours of Harry Potter.

look, i wouldnt be so annoyed, its just that the reason for the two parts is so they can "include all the detail of the story" but thats bollocks because WB are renowned for not giving a crap about the story line and almost making it upas they go along, so theyre sucking as much money out of HP as possible and they dont even have a valid excuse!

So you hate the films, complain about them, then watch them anyway? Or don't you? Then when they try some semblance of logic in splitting the massive (by now) books into two, you complain about that too. I'd link to it, but I don't feel like it.

Complaining about shows (movies) you don't like/watch. Or maybe you watch them anyway, which lands the 7th movie complaint under Unpleasable Fanbase.

I wonder how they will want to cut the story into two bits. I mean this is not a cake we are talking about, it's narratology with something like an arc of tension, how do you cut something like that without making the audience going all "Huh, nice, so when does part 2 come out?", after the end of the first movie.

Shouldn't you blame the director for whatever changes you didn't like? And what book-to-movie has ever been converted 100% faithfully (especially one as huge as Harry Potter)? Including absolutely everything would possibly make every movie after the fourth 4+ hours long. Watch the split yourself first and then judge how much of it is just milking money.

We've known about this (and been bitching about it) for quite some time now.

For my part, I just wish that Emma Watson had never been allowed near the things (get used to that people, you're gonna hear a lot more MZ EW bitching from now on.)

I wasn't too thrilled how the book ended, anyway, but at least they're making an attempt at trying to make it good.

You know, everyone complains that J.K. Rowling is out for more money, but the fact is, she made a series that became immensely popular and successful. If it were me, I think I'd feel a more than just a little proud of myself. Writing a book isn't as easy as it seems.

Who cares if they do it to make money? I'll still get double fun.

If they cut a 3 hour film in two parts I would be incredibly pissed, but from what I can gather, both parts will be around 2-3 hours long.

So say what you want, but they are not bleeding us on money, because we will be getting 2 films for the price of 2.

I'm not one for the HP films not because of the book-to-film translation (which is pretty good considering a lot of others) but because of the ridiculously shitty acting. Dear God, it borders Korean romantic comedies type of horrendous acting.

Also, I'm a huge fan of the books but I don't see why people are bitching about the whole Hallows getting split into two movies.

(And anyway OP, old news is old. You are months late on this news. Which is odd considering that you seem to be a diehard fan.)

I never watched any of them. But I think they are doing it for 2 reasons.

1: To pretend to care about the source material.

2: To make as much as possible in this final movie.

It's just business.

1) They better include enough about Snape for me. I also hope the final confrontation is as good in the movie as it was fan-freaking-tastic in the book.
2) It is going to be difficult for the first of two to be entertaining. The first 2/3 of the book, while mostly important exposition with a few scenes that should make for good action scenes, it is very, very dark and dispiriting and hard to take.
